Biosynthesis and preparation of T-2 Toxin, HT-2 Toxin and Neosolantol
Mycotoxin Research, 1987Biosynthesis of trichothecenes by strains ofF. sporotriahioides KF 9 6 and KF 530 was performed on rice as a medium. Three toxins in significant amounts were produced, with yield: T-2 toxin 0.7g from 600g of drv culture, being the highest of the three metabolites, HT-2 toxin 0.06g an Neosolaniol 0.015g.

HPLC: A Tool for the Analysis of T-2 Toxin and HT-2 Toxin in Cereals
Journal of Analytical Toxicology, 1984An analytical procedure for the determination of trichothecenes in various cereals is described. HPLC was performed with a reversed-phase (C18) column eluted with methanol:water (60:40, v/v). Compounds were detected with a refractive index detector. The elution patterns of free and contaminated samples were compared.

The occurrence of HT-2 toxin and other trichothecenes in Norwegian cereals
Mycopathologia, 1999A total of 449 grain samples, 102 barley, 169 wheat and 178 oat samples were collected from different regions of Norway from 1996-1998 crops, mainly from grain loads and silos. The samples were analysed for type A and B trichothecenes, the largest groups of mycotoxins produced by the Fusarium species, by gas chromatography with mass spectrometric ...

Pharmacokinetics and protein binding of trichothecene mycotoxins, T-2 toxin and HT-2 toxin, in dogs
Toxicon, 1988The pharmacokinetics of T-2 toxin, following i.m. and i.v. administration (0.4 mg/kg), were investigated in five dogs. Following i.m. administration, the mean pharmacokinetic parameters for T-2 and HT-2 toxins were, respectively: apparent half-life 21 +/- 5 and 73 +/- 7 min; peak plasma concentration 182 +/- 42 and 74 +/- 16 ng/ml; time to reach peak ...

The aggregation of bovine platelets suspended in homologous plasma is inhibited in the presence of T-2 toxin, HT-2 toxin, diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS) or deoxynivalenol (DON) when either collagen or ADP is used as the stimulatory agent for aggregation. For each of the mycotoxins the degree of inhibition is dependent on the amount of trichothecene present ...

Determination of T-2 and HT-2 Toxins in Commodities and Feed in Croatia
Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2011Data on the occurrence of T-2 and HT-2 toxins in commodities and feed in Croatia and in Europe are very limited. In the present study, 50 feed and commodity samples tested for the presence of these mycotoxins yielded highest concentrations in cattle feed (67.68 ng/g) and oat samples (32.94 ng/g).

Chemical interconversion of T-2 and HT-2 toxins and related compounds
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1971Abstract Mild alkaline hydrolysis of 3α-hydroxy-4β, 15-diacetoxy-8α-isovaleroxy-12,13-epoxytrichothec-9-ene (T-2 toxin) gave the 3α,4β-diol (HT-2 toxin) and the 3α,4β,15-triol as well as the 3α,4β,8α,15-tetraol. Partial acetylation of the diol gave mainly the 4β-hydroxy-3α-acetate, isomeric with T-2 toxin.

T-2 and HT-2 toxins belong to mycotoxins which are found in human foods and animal chow. We investigated the toxicity and oxidative stress induced by T-2/HT-2 in broilers and chicken hepatocytes. Maize cultures of Fusarium poae was fed to broilers for 42 d, and the physiological index, biochemical index and expression of mRNAs related to oxidative ...

Selenium promotes metabolic conversion of T-2 toxin to HT-2 toxin in cultured human chondrocytes
Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, 2017To explore the metabolism of T-2 toxin in human chondrocytes (HCs) and determine the impact of selenium supplementation. For determination of cytotoxicity using the MTT assay, optical density values were read with an automatic enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay reader at 510nm. Cell survival was calculated and the cytotoxicity estimated. To identify the

Toxic effects of HT-2 toxin on mouse oocytes and its possible mechanisms
Archives of Toxicology, 2015T-2 toxin is one of the type A trichothecene mycotoxins that is considered to be the most toxic of the trichothecenes. T-2 toxin has been shown to exert various toxic effects in farm animals and humans, as it induces lesions in the brain and in lymphoid, hematopoietic, and gastrointestinal tissues. HT-2 toxin is the major metabolite of T-2 toxin. There
