Inter-laboratory validation of liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry multi-mycotoxin determination in animal feed – method transfer from the reference laboratory to regional laboratories

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Research, 2023
The results are presented of the inter-laboratory validation of a liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method for the determination of eight mycotoxins (aflatoxin B1, deoxynivalenol, fumonisin B1, fumonisin B2, ochratoxin A, toxin T-2, toxin HT-

Detection of Type A Trichothecene Di-Glucosides Produced in Corn by High-Resolution Liquid Chromatography-Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesToxins, 2013
The existence of di-glucosylated derivative of T-2 toxin in plant (corn powder) was confirmed for the first time in addition to that of HT-2 toxin. These masked mycotoxins (mycotoxin glucosides) were identified as T-2 toxin-di-glucoside (T2GlcGlc) and HT-

Presence of T-2 and HT-2 toxins in maize

open access: yesZbornik Matice srpske za prirodne nauke, 2013
Data on the occurrence of T-2 and HT-2 toxins in maize from Serbia and Europe are very limited. In this study a total of 50 maize samples harvested during September and October 2012 in Serbia were analyzed. Presence of T-2/HT-2 toxins was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

Searching for the Fusarium spp. Which Are Responsible for Trichothecene Contamination in Oats. Using Metataxonomy to Compare the Distribution of Toxigenic Species in Fields from Spain and the UK

open access: yesToxins, 2022
The contamination of oats with Fusarium toxins poses a high risk for food safety. Among them, trichothecenes are the most frequently reported in European oats, especially in northern countries.

Melatonin enhances reproductive capability in HT-2 toxin-treated oocytes via mitochondrial restoration

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
HT-2 toxin, a type A trichothecene mycotoxin produced by fungi such as Fusarium, is widely present in nature in moldy crops and adversely affects mammalian reproduction. Melatonin, a natural antioxidant, exhibits protective effects on cells.

Distribution Analysis of Twelve Mycotoxins in Corn and Corn-Derived Products by LC-MS/MS to Evaluate the Carry-Over Ratio during Wet-Milling

open access: yesToxins, 2018
This study investigated the distribution of twelve mycotoxins (aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, and G2; ochratoxin A; fumonisins B1 and B2; deoxynivalenol; nivalenol; zearalenone; T-2 toxin; and HT-2 toxin) in corn and corn by-products (corn bran, cornstarch, corn

Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

Fluorescence Polarization Immunoassay for the Determination of T-2 and HT-2 Toxins and Their Glucosides in Wheat

open access: yesToxins, 2019
T-2 and HT-2 toxins and their main modified forms (T-2 glucoside and HT-2 glucoside) may co-occur in cereals and cereal-based products. A fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA) was developed for the simultaneous determination of T-2 toxin, HT-2 ...

Distribution of T-2 and HT-2 Toxins in Milling Fractions of Durum Wheat

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 2011
The effect of processing on mycotoxin content in milling fractions has been investigated in 10 samples of durum wheat contaminated with T-2 and HT-2 toxins at levels ranging from 97 to 5,954 μg/kg (sum of T-2 and HT-2 toxins). Either naturally contaminated samples or samples artificially inoculated with Fusarium sporotrichioides under field conditions
