Assay and Relationship of HT-2 Toxin and T-2 Toxin Formation in Liquid Culture [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Microbiology, 1975
Both T-2 toxin and HT-2 toxin can be conveniently quantitated in crude extracts by using a combination of thin-layer chromatography and fluorodensitometry. This technique was used to follow the production of these toxins by liquid cultures of Fusarium poae (NRRL 3287).

Potential Toxicity and Mechanisms of T-2 and HT-2 Individually or in Combination on the Intestinal Barrier Function of Porcine Small Intestinal Epithelial Cells

open access: yesToxins, 2023
Under natural conditions, T-2 toxin can be easily metabolized to HT-2 toxin by deacetylation, and T-2 and HT-2 are usually co-contaminated in grain and feed at a high detected rate.

Abnormal expression of TSG-6 disturbs extracellular matrix homeostasis in chondrocytes from endemic osteoarthritis

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
Background and aims: Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) is a unique endemic osteochondropathy with unclear pathogenesis in China. T-2 toxin exposure has been identified as a significant risk factor of KBD.

Comparison of Apoptosis and Autophagy in Human Chondrocytes Induced by the T-2 and HT-2 Toxins

open access: yesToxins, 2019
In this report, we have investigated the apoptosis and autophagy of chondrocytes induced by the T-2 and HT-2 toxins. The viability of chondrocytes was measured by the MTT assay.
