IL-22 Fate Reporter Reveals Origin and Control of IL-22 Production in Homeostasis and Infection [PDF]
Abstract IL-22 is a cytokine that regulates tissue homeostasis at barrier surfaces. A variety of IL-22–producing cell types is known, but identification on the single-cell level remains difficult. Therefore, we generated a fate reporter mouse that would allow the identification of IL-22–producing cells and their fate mapping in vivo.

The Interleukin-10 Family of Cytokines and Their Role in the CNS
Resident cells of the central nervous system (CNS) play an important role in detecting insults and initiating protective or sometimes detrimental host immunity. At peripheral sites, immune responses follow a biphasic course with the rapid, but transient,

Highlighting Interleukin-36 Signalling in Plaque Psoriasis and Pustular Psoriasis
Plaque psoriasis and pustular psoriasis are overlapping, but distinct, disorders. The therapeutic response to biologics supports the pivotal role of the tumour necrosis alpha (TNF-?)/ interleukin (IL)-23/IL-17/IL-22 axis in the pathogenesis of these ...

Colonizing Microbes, IL-10 and IL-22: Keeping the Peace at the Mucosal Surface
Our world is filled with microbes. Each multicellular organism has developed ways to interact with this microbial environment. Microbes do not always pose a threat; they can contribute to many processes that benefit the host.

Effects of all-trans retinoic acid on the function of Cx43 and GJIC in HaCaT cells induced by IL-22
Objective: To investigate the effect of all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) on Cx43 protein expression and GJIC function in IL-22-treated HaCaT cells, and whether it is related to the JNK pathway to further elaborate molecular mechanism of ATRA on GJIC ...

IL-22: There Is a Gap in Our Knowledge [PDF]
Abstract IL-22 is a critical cytokine in modulating tissue responses during inflammation. IL-22 is upregulated in many chronic inflammatory diseases, making IL-22 biology a potentially rewarding therapeutic target. However, this is complicated by the dual-natured role of IL-22 in inflammation, as the cytokine can be protective or ...
