Overcoming Photodynamic Therapy Resistance: GSH‐Responsive AIE Photosensitizer‐Hydroxycamptothecin Nanoliposomes for Extrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A GSH‐responsive AIE nanoplatform (TSH NPs) with RGD‐mediated tumor targeting co‐delivers a photosensitizer (TPA) and HCPT for extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The system synergistically enhances PDT and chemotherapy by suppressing HIF‐1α/VEGF‐driven hypoxic adaptation, effectively overcoming PDT resistance.

Spatial Autocorrelation in Mass Spectrometry Imaging

open access: yes, 2016
Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a powerful molecular imaging technique. In microprobe MSI, images are created through a grid-wise interrogation of individual spots by mass spectrometry across a surface.

How is Nanoarchitectonics Shaping Extracellular Vesicle Research?

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The convergence of nanoarchitectonics and extracellular vesicle biology is reshaping next‐generation nanomedicine by enabling rationally designed nanostructures for enhanced EVs detection, engineering, and therapy. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have gained recognition as crucial mediators of cell‐to‐cell communication, holding immense potential

Mass Spectrometry Imaging of Drug Related Crystal-Like Structures in Formalin-Fixed Frozen and Paraffin-Embedded Rabbit Kidney Tissue Sections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A multimodal mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) based approach was used to characterize the molecular content of crystal-like structures in a frozen and paraffin embedded piece of a formalin-fixed rabbit kidney.

Plasma Gelation as an Overlooked Determinant of Transfection Efficiency in Protein Corona‐Coated Lipid Nanoparticles: Implications for In Vitro–In Vivo Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Upon contact with plasma, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) rapidly acquire a protein corona (PC) that redefines their biological identity. In calcium‐containing environments, these coronated particles trigger the formation of a gel‐like plasma network, profoundly altering their transport properties and reducing their effective availability.

Targeting CD300a Signaling With a Phosphatidylserine‐Presenting Hydrogel Rescues Macrophage Dysfunction and Accelerates Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the proposed mechanism: PEG/RGD‐PSLs mimic apoptotic cells to engage PS receptors (notably CD300a), transducing an inhibitory signal that suppresses the MyD88/NF‐κB pathway, leading to global anti‐inflammatory and pro‐reparative effects.

2‐Deoxyglucose Dendrimer‐Enabled Niclosamide Delivery to FRβ‐Expressing Macrophages Alleviates Endometriosis Progression and Associated Hyperalgesia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A folic acid (FA)‐conjugated 2‐deoxyglucose dendrimer selectively targets FRβ+ macrophages in endometriotic lesions, enabling precise intracellular delivery of niclosamide. This nonhormonal nanomedicine enhances drug solubility, provides controlled intracellular release, suppresses lesion growth, reduces inflammation and pain, and establishes FRβ ...

Imaging Flow Cytometry of Legionella-Containing Vacuoles in Intact and Homogenized Wild-Type and Mutant Dictyostelium

open access: yes, 2023
The causative agent of a severe pneumonia termed "Legionnaires' disease", Legionella pneumophila, replicates within protozoan and mammalian phagocytes in a specialized intracellular compartment called the Legionella-containing vacuole (LCV).

Lignin Mimicking Protein Methylation Augments the Efficacy of FOLFOX Chemotherapy by Anchoring Thymidylate Synthase

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lignin‐mimicking protein methylation can enhance the efficacy and mitigate the toxicity of the classic FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen. ABSTRACT FOLFOX has served as the standard chemotherapy regimen for advanced stages, specifically in the treatment of pancreatic, colorectal, and bladder cancers.

Targeted Drug and Metabolite Imaging: Desorption Electrospray Ionization Combined with Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry

open access: yes, 2018
Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) has proven to be a valuable tool for drug and metabolite imaging in pharmaceutical toxicology studies and can reveal, for example, accumulation of drug candidates in early drug development.
