In vitro Simulated Digestion and Microstructure of Peppermint Oil Nanoemulsion.

open access: yesJournal of oleo science, 2019
The variations in average particle size, zeta potential, free fatty acids (FFA) release rate, and the bioavailability of menthol under in vitro simulated digestion conditions of peppermint oil nanoemulsion were investigated. 3D confocal laser scanning microscopy and Cryo-scanning electron microscopy were used to observe the microstructure ...

Invisible but not inaccessible—Revealing transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins with solution NMR and complementary methods

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Modulation of digestibility of canine food using enzyme supplement: an in vitro simulated semi-dynamic digestion study

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2023
Digestibility and nutrient availability are important parameters when estimating the nutritional quality of pet food. We have developed a simulated semi-dynamic in vitro canine digestion model to evaluate the digestibility of dry extruded canine food. Canine food was assessed for digestible energy, dry matter digestibility, protein digestibility, non ...

Implications of static in vitro digestion of starch in the presence of dietary fiber [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering, 2018
Interest in understanding the digestion behavior of starch in the presence of dietary fibers is growing due to the ability of dietary component to control the release and absorption of glucose.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Heavy metal bioavailability and bioaccessibility in soil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This chapter considers the use of a variety of approaches to assess either the bioavailability or the bioaccessibility of metals in soil. The bioavailability of metals from soils is considered with respect to a series of single-extraction methods ...

Preparation of Ginger Peel Polysaccharide-zinc Complex and in Vitro Simulated Digestion

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2022
In this study, ginger peel polysaccharide were combined with zinc sulfate, and its preparation process was optimized by single factor and response surface experiments with the chelation rate as the index.

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

Establishment of contaminant-free perennial plants in vitro

open access: yes, 1999
Perennial plant tissue cultures are established by disinfecting field or greenhouse-grown plant parts and transferring them to sterile medium in vitro. Typically, shoots harvested from field or greenhouse-grown plants are placed in water, either to force

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...
