Role of Soluble Interleukin-6 Receptor With Interleukin-6 in Human Hematopoiesis
A complex of soluble interleukin-6 receptor (sIL-6R) and interleukin-6 has been shown to play some roles in human hematopoiesis. It activates gp130 signal to stimulate human erythroid, megakaryocytic and primitive hematopoietic progenitor cells, which express gp130 but not IL-6R, in the presence of c-Kit signal mediated by stem cell factor (SCF).

Increased expression of interleukin-6 gene in gastritis and gastric cancer [PDF]
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) induces an intense inflammatory response, mediated by proinflammatory cytokines, including interleukin (IL)-6 and its membrane receptor (IL-6R), which activates important signaling pathways in the development of gastric ...

Interleukin-6 signalling in health and disease [version 1; peer review: 3 approved]
Biochemically, interleukin-6 belongs to the class of four-helical cytokines. The cytokine can be synthesised and secreted by many cells. It acts via a cell surface-expressed interleukin-6 receptor, which is not signalling competent.

Soluble interleukin-6 receptor in the COVID-19 cytokine storm syndrome
Summary: Data suggest that interleukin (IL)-6 blockade could reduce mortality in severe COVID-19, yet IL-6 is only modestly elevated in most patients. Chen et al.

The effect of interleukin‐6 and the interleukin‐6 receptor on glucose transport in mouse skeletal muscle [PDF]
Exercise results in an increase in interleukin‐6 (IL‐6), its receptor (IL‐6R) and skeletal muscle glucose transport. Interleukin‐6 has been found to have equivocal effects on glucose transport, with no studies, to our knowledge, investigating any potential role of IL‐6R.

Regulation of interleukin‐6 receptor expression by interleukin‐6 in human monocytes — a re‐examination [PDF]
We have studied the expression and regulation of the interleukin‐6 receptor (gp80) and its signal transducer gp13O in primary human blood monocytes. Here, we show that freshly isolated human monocytes express mRNAs for gp80 and gp130. In contrast to a previous report [(1989) FEBS Lett. 249, 27–30] we find that neither lipopolysaccharide nor interleukin‐

Soluble interleukin-6 receptor triggers osteoclast formation by interleukin 6. [PDF]
It has been reported that soluble interleukin (IL)-6 receptor (sIL-6R) is detected in the serum of healthy individuals and its level is increased in patients with multiple myeloma and human immunodeficiency virus infection. Although several reports have suggested that sIL-6R potentiates IL-6 action, its physiological role remains unclear. In this study,

Background Interleukin-6 (IL-6) with IL-6 receptor (IL-6R) play an important role in the tissue regeneration in vivo, especially bone metabolism. Bone marrow -derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) are multipotent stromal cells, which are main origin ...
