The impact of a single episode of remote ischemic preconditioning on myocardial injury after elective percutaneous coronary intervention [PDF]
Introduction : Myocardial injury after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) occurs in approximately 30% of procedures, and is related to worse prognosis.

Abstract figure legend Mitochondrial SK channel enhancement reduces cardiac arrhythmia trigger. Spontaneous sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) Ca2+ release via hyperactive RyR2s underlies an increased arrhythmia trigger, promoting early and delayed afterdepolarizations during stress. Hyperactive RyR2s causes rise in cytosolic [Ca2+] during diastole. Clearance

Ischemic preconditioning in the younger and aged heart [PDF]
: Ischemic preconditioning is the effect of brief ischemic episodes which protect the heart from the following more prolonged ischemic episode. This mechanism is effective in younger but not in aged heart.

ABSTRACT Prompt recognition and early intervention are critical in the management of intracerebral hemorrhage. This case demonstrates how system‐level diagnostic and referral delays in a low‐resource setting can worsen outcomes, underscoring the ethical imperative for coordinated emergency pathways and equitable access to neurosurgical care.

Remote ischemic preconditioning in major vascular surgery
Remote ischemic preconditioning is a physiologic mechanism in mammalian species whereby brief exposure to nonlethal ischemia in one tissue confers protection against a prolonged ischemic insult in a distant tissue. first described almost 15 years ago, it

Modified Sleep Apnea Severity Index and Cardiovascular Risk in CPAP‐Intolerant OSA Patients
The modified sleep apnea severity index (mSASI) combines patient anatomy, weight, sleep study metrics, and symptoms into a composite OSA index ranging from 1 (least severe) to 3 (most severe). Our study found that mSASI correlated better with baseline cardiovascular risk measured by the 5‐year Framingham Risk Score compared to the AHI.
