Bacteriocins as a Promising Antimicrobial Strategy Against Multidrug‐Resistant Pathogens: Mechanisms of Action, Applications in Human and Animal Health, and the Food Industry

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The global rise of antimicrobial resistance has significantly increased the difficulty treating infectious agents, creating an urgent need for alternative therapeutic strategies. In this context, bacteriocins have emerged as a promising solution, offering a potential alternative to conventional antibacterial therapies.

Magnetic structure of hexagonal YMnO3 and LuMnO3 from a microscopic point of view [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this work is to unravel a basic microscopic picture behind complex magnetic properties of hexagonal manganites. For these purposes, we consider two characteristic compounds: YMnO3 and LuMnO3, which form different magnetic structures in the ...

Effects of disruptive peers in endogenous social networks

open access: yesQuantitative Economics, Volume 17, Issue 1, Page 92-134, January 2026.
This study uses sociometric data to show that social connections in the classroom shape the diffusion of the negative externalities on cognitive achievement generated by abused and neglected peers. We find the strongest negative effects for students who are socially closest to the abused and neglected peer. The fade‐out rate of the negative externality

Skill formation and the trouble with child noncognitive skill measures

open access: yesQuantitative Economics, Volume 17, Issue 1, Page 135-172, January 2026.
This paper develops a framework to address issues of contamination in parent‐reported measures of child noncognitive skills. We estimate a dynamic model in which child and parental skills evolve jointly and leverage information provided by teachers and interviewers to deal with contamination of parent‐reported measures.

Canonoid and Poissonoid Transformations, Symmetries and BiHamiltonian Structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We give a characterization of linear canonoid transformations on symplectic manifolds and we use it to generate biHamiltonian structures for some mechanical systems.
