ABSTRACT Introduction Direct experimental investigation of Klinefelter syndrome (KS) in patients is limited because the syndrome manifests heterogeneously and affects multiple organ systems. Studying KS therefore requires a model that captures this complexity as accurately as possible while still permitting controlled experimental manipulation ...

The Effects of a Single Session of Combined Aerobic and Resistance Exercise on Leptin Levels and Insulin Resistance Index in Sedentary Men [PDF]
Background and Objectives: Physical activity energy expenditure may mediate the relationship between plasma leptin levels and worsening insulin resistance independent of adiposity.

Higher maternal BMI before and during early pregnancy is associated with lower prolactin levels across gestation and a reduced prolactin rise. Prolactin in pregnancy may reflect maternal metabolic health and has potential relevance to lactation outcomes.

Is there a role for cannabidiol in obesity, metabolic syndrome and binge eating?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant phytocannabinoids isolated from the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is a lipophilic, non‐intoxicating substance that differently from Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9‐THC) does not present the typical profile of a drug of abuse.

Characterization and remodeling of the vasculature in human adipose tissue

Background and Purpose The pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)‐induced cardiomyopathy involves cardiac fibrosis that leads to diastolic dysfunction. We established that replacement of lost substance P (SP) that occurs in T2DM reduces cardiac fibrosis and decreases inflammation in T2DM mice and non‐human primates.

Modulation of Leptin Resistance by Protein Tyrosine Phosphatases
Leptin plays a central role in weight control by suppressing food intake and increasing energy expenditure. The concept of leptin resistance emerged to explain the seemingly paradoxical elevated leptin levels in obesity.

Impact of incretin analogues on lipid and lipoprotein metabolism in obesity and diabetes
Abstract Incretin‐based therapies have gained momentum as a key strategy for reducing cardiovascular risk in individuals with obesity and/or type 2 diabetes (T2D). It remains unclear whether the cardiovascular benefits reflect a direct reduction in atherogenic lipoproteins—namely, low‐density lipoproteins (LDL), very low‐density lipoproteins (VLDL) and
