PSMD14‐Mediated LDHA Deubiquitination Upregulates ACLY Expression via H3K18 Lactylation to Promote Lipid Synthesis and Pancreatic Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the expression and functional role of the deubiquitinase PSMD14 in PC, with a focus on the mechanism by which it promotes lactate accumulation–induced histone lactylation, thereby driving aberrant lipid metabolism. These findings establish that dual targeting of PSMD14 and the glycolysis–lactylation signaling axis may represent ...

Noninvasive tests for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in a multi‐ethnic population: The HELIUS study

open access: yesHepatology Communications, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is increasing in prevalence and severity globally, prompting noninvasive testing, yet limited data exist on noninvasive liver tests (NITs) including transient elastography (TE) in ethnically diverse populations.

Effect of Phenazine Methosulfate on Lipogenesis

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1970
Abstract The effect of phenazine methosulfate (PMS) on lipogenesis of rat epididymal fat pad tissue was studied. PMS at concentrations of 10-6 to 10-5 m stimulates l-lactate oxidation and, most markedly, fatty acid synthesis, without affecting glycerol synthesis. Maximal stimulation of lipogenesis occurs at about 10-5 m.

Adenylosuccinate Synthase 1 Deficiency Improves Energy Metabolism by Promoting Adipose Tissue Re‐esterification via Glycerol Kinase Upregulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Working model of Adss1‐mediated regulation of energy metabolism in adipose tissue. In beige adipocytes, Adss1 interacts with HDAC3 in the cytoplasm, and its loss reduces nuclear HDAC3 while increasing cytosolic fractions. This redistribution suppresses HDAC activity and enhances H3K27 acetylation at the Gk promoter, leading to transcriptional ...

Dietary fat source affects metabolism of fatty acids in pigs as evaluated by altered expression of lipogenic genes in liver and adipose tissues

open access: yesAnimal, 2009
Little is known about pig gene expressions related to dietary fatty acids (FAs) and most work have been conducted in rodents. The aim of this study was to investigate how dietary fats regulate fat metabolism of pigs in different tissues.

Dietary carbohydrate's effects on lipogenesis and the relationship of lipogenesis to blood insulin and glucose concentrations [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Nutrition, 2002
The process by which dietary carbohydrate is transformed into fat in the human body is termedde novolipogenesis. New methods for the measurement of this process in humans are available and have been used to investigate the role of the carbohydrate form (fed as a liquid or solid), the level of processing of carbohydrate in foods, and the role of ...

eIF4E Enriched Extracellular Vesicles Induce Immunosuppressive Macrophages through HMGCR‐Mediated Metabolic Rewiring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, it is revealed that ovarian cancer cells release extracellular vesicles enriched with eIF4E, which alters protein production in macrophages. This leads to increased expression of 3‐hydroxy‐3‐methyl‐glutaryl‐coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR), boosting cholesterol synthesis and activating an immunosuppressive pathway through X‐box binding protein 1 and ...

Xylose Metabolism Perturbation in Yarrowia lipolytica for Efficient Succinic Acid Bioproduction from Lignocellulosic Biomass

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study engineers Yarrowia lipolytica to produce succinic acid (SA) from lignocellulosic biomass. Adaptive evolution and multi‐omics analysis identify regulators that alleviate xylose metabolic disorder. Multi‐copy integration of xylose metabolic genes resolves redox imbalances from a futile fatty acid cycle, producing high‐titer SA from corn stover
