Effects of Manufacturing Conditions on the Properties of Boric Acid/Melamine-Urea-Formaldehyde Microcapsules Prepared By in situ Polymerization: Its Inhibition Behavior on Wood Destroying Fungi

open access: yesBioResources, 2022
Water-soluble boric acid (BA) was microencapsulated by in situ polymerization with a melamine-urea formaldehyde shell. The effects of core-shell ratio, time, and temperature on the microcapsule characteristics were investigated.

Microencapsulation of Finely Divided Ceramic Powders [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Polymer coated alumina particles have been prepared by spray drying alumina powder with a polymer emulsion. Powders containing a maximum of 50% wt. were obtained. The coated particles were compared to mixtures of alumina and polymer.

SYN‐A, a naturally derived synergist, restores pyrethroid efficacy against cabbage stem flea beetle but negatively impacts its parasitoid Microctonus brassicae

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
SYN‐A, a naturally derived synergist, inhibited key metabolic pathways associated with pyrethroid insecticide resistance in cabbage stem flea beetle (CSFB) and its parasitoid Microctonus brassicae. SYN‐A restored pyrethroid efficacy against resistant CSFB allowing up to 80% reduction in application rates.

Enhanced Active Packaging Properties Through the Incorporation of Pomegranate Seed Oil Micro‐ and Nanoparticles

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
Biodegradable cassava starch films were developed incorporating micro‐ and nanoencapsulated pomegranate seed oil (PSO). The films exhibited enhanced mechanical flexibility, antioxidant activity and UV‐barrier properties. Particle size influenced the functional behaviour, highlighting lipid encapsulation as a key strategy to stabilize bioactive ...

Monovalent mannose‐glycoconjugates of sulforaphane reprogram human dendritic cells via NFATc1 to induce immune tolerance under inflammatory conditions

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Immune tolerance prevents inflammation and autoimmunity, with dendritic cells (DCs) playing a key role. Reprogramming DCs towards a tolerogenic state represents a promising therapeutic strategy. Sulforaphane (SFN) has known immunomodulatory effects, but its clinical application is limited by poor stability and ...
