microRNA biogenesis and function in plants [PDF]
A microRNA (miRNA) is a 21–24 nucleotide RNA product of a non‐protein‐coding gene. Plants, like animals, have a large number of miRNA‐encoding genes in their genomes. The biogenesis of miRNAs in Arabidopsis is similar to that in animals in that miRNAs are processed from primary precursors by at least two steps mediated by RNAse III‐like enzymes and ...

Chromosomal Instability Drives Glioblastoma Heterogeneity and Therapeutic Opportunities
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal form of brain cancer, is defined by profound genomic instability, with Chromosomal Instability (CIN) playing a central role in driving tumor progression, therapy resistance, and poor prognosis. CIN is characterized by numerical and structural alterations, is driven by mechanisms such as mitotic ...

Arabidopsis AGO1 binds both microRNA (miRNA) and endogenous small interfering RNA (siRNA). Here the authors show that 5′−3′ RNA degradation suppresses siRNA biogenesis from ribosomal RNA to prevent overloading of AGO1 with ribosomal siRNA and maintain ...

Research Progress of Mitochondrial-Mediated Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) Antioxidation
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an essential omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) for human body, which is highly rich in deep sea fish oil and marine microalgae. Mitochondria are the energy factory of cells. Mitochondrial functions and biogenesis can

Model of circNrip1 (cNrip1) upregulation driving neuropathic pain mechanisms. After peripheral nerve injury, increased FUS triggers the formation and upregulation of cNrip1 in injured DRG neurons. Upregulated cNrip1 recruits SYNCRIP to the 3′‐UTR of Tlr2 mRNA by binding to both, thereby promoting SYNCRIP‐triggered Tlr2 mRNA stability and increasing ...

Stabilizing heterochromatin by DGCR8 alleviates senescence and osteoarthritis
DGCR8 is a component of the canonical microprocessor complex for microRNA biogenesis. Here the authors implicate DGCR8 in heterochromatin maintenance and aging attenuation independent of its miRNA-processing activity through Lamin B1, KAP1 and HP1 ...

ABSTRACT The muscle capsule of Trichinella is a critical structure that impedes immune attacks and drug penetration, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying its formation remain poorly understood. Using a high‐quality super‐pangenome comprising 12 Trichinella species, we compared extensive genomic variations between encapsulating and non‐encapsulating ...

Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.
