Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Minimally Processed Mushrooms

2017
Mushrooms are important in human nutrition with high protein, minerals, vitamins, low fat content, and low energy levels. They provide an alternative source of protein to people who cannot consume animal foods for different reasons. They are also considered to be a good dietary product with low fat content and energy levels.

Minimal coupled diffusion process

Acta Mathematicae Applicatae Sinica, 1987
The paper deals with the Markov process \(Z_ t(\omega)=(X_ t(\omega),Y_ t(\omega))\), where \(X_ t\in R\), \(Y_ t\in \{1,2\}\), whose transition probability is P(t,(x,i),d(y,i)), x,y\(\in R\), i,j\(\in \{1,2\}\). \(Z_ t\) corresponds to a particle moving along two parallel lines subject to random jumps from one line to another.

Minimizing Process Induced Prooxidant Stresses

1998
The adverse effects of trace metals, heat, steam and other conditions encountered in food processing relate to the acceleration of development of rancidity. Measures to retard oxidation of lipids, vitamins, pigments and proteins include elimination of prooxidants, removal of oxygen and use of blends of inhibitors formulated for specific substrates.

Minimal Processing of Fruits

2018
Food are biological systems, in which microbiological growth and enzymatic and chemical reactions are constantly taking place causing deterioration and quality losses. These unwanted phenomena must be controlled in order to preserve fruits for longer times.
