Disarming the Heat‐Shock Response: Rosmarinic Acid Potentiates Mild Hyperthermia–Induced Apoptosis in A549 Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer Cells

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 11, November 2026.
Rosmarinic acid potentiated hyperthermia‐induced cytotoxicity in A549 non‐small cell lung cancer cells. The combined treatment was associated with increased intracellular ROS, altered MAPK signaling, reduced p‐HSF1/total HSF1 and HSP expression, S‐phase accumulation, and increased apoptotic changes.

Dose‐Dependent Autophagic Dysfunction and CCR5‐Mediated Neuroinflammation Drive Arsenic Trioxide‐Induced Cortical Neurodegeneration in Mice

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 11, November 2026.
Exposure to arsenic trioxide (As2O3) in humans is associated with dose‐dependent cortical neurodegeneration with convergent pathological mechanisms. Low and medium dose exposure induces adaptive autophagy via PI3K/AKT/mTOR suppression and high dose exposure leads to mTOR hyperactivation, autophagic failure, microglial neuroinflammation and excitotoxic ...

Extracellular Vesicles for Space Biomedical Research

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2026.
Microgravity reshapes EV biogenesis and cargo selection, which brings new opportunities for longitudinal liquid‐biopsy readouts of stress and aging‐like trajectories, as well as the regenerative products in spaceflight research. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are regulated, information‐rich nanovesicles that reflect aspects of parent‐cell state,

Revisiting Inherited Metabolic Diseases (IMDs) Through the Lens of Selective Autophagy

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Selective autophagy is increasingly recognized as a fundamental quality‐control mechanism that complements bulk autophagy by enabling the targeted degradation of specific intracellular cargos, including mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum (ER), lipid droplets, glycogen, peroxisomes, ferritin, ribosomes, and protein aggregates.

Neurodegenerative Diseases: Epidemiology, Risk Factors, Classification, Pathophysiology, Clinical Features, Diagnosis, and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
Neurodegenerative diseases share convergent risk architectures and pathological mechanisms, yet diverge in selective vulnerability, clinical presentation, and therapeutic responsiveness. This review integrates cross‐disease epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment, highlighting the transition from symptomatic care toward biomarker‐guided

Alzheimer's Disease: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Advances

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
Alzheimer's disease involves Aβ/tau aggregation, neuroinflammation, BBB leakage, gut–brain dysfunction, and mitochondrial damage, causing neuronal loss. Nanodelivery enables combined small‐molecule and targeted therapies. Disease‐modifying biologics/chemicals, including anti‐Aβ antibodies, raise safety and access concerns. Exercise, cognitive training,

Neutrophils: Heterogeneity, Biology, Diseases, and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
Neutrophils exhibit remarkable functional plasticity and play dual roles in tissue protection and disease progression. This review summarizes their key biological functions and highlights the shift from conventional broad‐spectrum interventions to neutrophil‐based drug delivery systems.

Protein Lactylation in Cancer: From Mechanisms to Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
Increased glycolysis and lactate accumulation promote histone and nonhistone protein lactylation, linking tumor metabolic reprogramming to treatment adaptation. Lactylation enhances DNA repair, suppresses antitumor immunity, strengthens antioxidant defenses, and facilitates cell‐cycle checkpoint escape, collectively promoting resistance to chemotherapy,

Identification of Novel Interacting Proteins of FUZ and GPR161

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 26, Issue 11, Page 64-74, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Protein–protein interactions are central to the dynamic regulation of signaling pathways and provide critical insight into the cellular mechanisms underlying human disease. Our previous study demonstrated biochemical and genetic interactions between FUZ and GPR161 in sonic hedgehog signaling during spinal neural tube development. In this study,
