Urologic Bacteriome: The Hero or the Villain in Prostate Cancer Onset, Progression, and Treatment?
ABSTRACT Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer in men worldwide and the fifth leading cause of cancer‐related mortality, presenting urgent unmet clinical needs in diagnosis and treatment. The recognition of the microbiome as a key factor in human health has prompted numerous studies, revealing an exciting new approach to ...

Role of IQGAP1 in Papillomavirus-Associated Head and Neck Tumorigenesis
Approximately 25% of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) are associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. In these cancers as well as in HPV-associated anogenital cancers, PI3K signaling is highly activated.

A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Small molecule NMD and MDM2 inhibitors synergistically trigger apoptosis in HeLa cells
: The nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) pathway and the p53 pathway, linked to tumorgenesis, are also promising targets for cancer treatment. NMD plays an important role in RNA quality control, while the p53 pathway is involved in cancer suppression ...

Improved Systemic Immunochemotherapy Employing an Oxaliplatin‐TLR7/8 Agonist Prodrug Strategy
A platinum(IV) prodrug is developed to systemically deliver the TLR7/8 agonist gardiquimod. Tumor‐targeting is mediated by an albumin‐binding maleimide, which limits premature complex activation. Ox‐Gardi‐Mal accumulates specifically in the tumor, where it activates the immune system.

The Silent Link: Exploring the Impact of Periodontal Diseases on Head and Neck Carcinogenesis
ABSTRACT Objectives Oral dysbiosis can accelerate the progression of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) by fostering a pro‐inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and metabolically altered environment. This narrative review examines the relationships between periodontitis‐associated bacteria and HNSCC, focusing on their impact on oncogenic pathways,
