Artificial neural network modelling of natural gas dehydration process

open access: yesDiscover Chemical Engineering
A multi-input–multi-output artificial neuron network (MIMO-ANN) model has been developed for process monitoring and improvement on a natural gas glycol dehydration process.

Final solution to the problem of relating a true copula to an imprecise copula

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper we solve in the negative the problem proposed in this journal (I. Montes et al., Sklar's theorem in an imprecise setting, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 278 (2015), 48-66) whether an order interval defined by an imprecise copula contains a copula.

The Argo Simulation: I. Quenching of Massive Galaxies at High Redshift as a Result of Cosmological Starvation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Observations show a prevalence of high redshift galaxies with large stellar masses and predominantly passive stellar populations. A variety of processes have been suggested that could reduce the star formation in such galaxies to observed levels ...

Unravelling the Genetic Mechanisms of Litter Traits in a Maternal Line of Pigs

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reproductive traits related to litter size are the main indicators of reproductive efficiency in pig production and are continuously evaluated for the selection of maternal lines. Several environmental and genetic factors are involved with the development of these traits.

Symbiotic bacteria-dependent expansion of MR1-reactive T cells causes autoimmunity in the absence of Bcl11b

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
MR1 functions as an antigen presenting protein on cells in addition to MAIT cells. Here the authors use an early T cell-specific Bcl11b-deficient mouse that develops autoimmunity through a population of nonconventional MR1-restricted T cells and ...

Differential antigenic requirements by diverse MR1‐restricted T cells

open access: yesImmunology & Cell Biology, 2022
AbstractMHC‐related protein 1 (MR1) presents microbial riboflavin metabolites to mucosal‐associated invariant T (MAIT) cells for surveillance of microbial presence. MAIT cells express a semi‐invariant T‐cell receptor (TCR), which recognizes MR1–antigen complexes in a pattern‐recognition‐like manner.

Intercomparison of Methods for Disentangling Local and Nonlocal Biophysical Impacts of Land Cover Changes

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract The climatic impacts of land cover changes (LCCs) due to altered biophysical properties include local effects in LCC areas and nonlocal effects in both LCC and non‐LCC areas resulting from atmospheric feedback. The biophysical impacts of LCC simulated by climate models typically represent only the total effects, that is, the sum of local and ...

MR1 presents vitamin B6–related compounds for recognition by MR1-reactive T cells

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences
The major histocompatibility complex class I related protein (MR1) presents microbially derived vitamin B2 precursors to mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells. MR1 can also present other metabolites to activate MR1-restricted T cells expressing more diverse T cell receptors (TCRs), some with anti-tumor reactivity.

Dosimetric effects of adaptive prostate cancer radiotherapy in an MR-linac workflow

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2020
Background The purpose was to evaluate the dosimetric effects in prostate cancer treatment caused by anatomical changes occurring during the time frame of adaptive replanning in a magnetic resonance linear accelerator (MR-linac) workflow.

From Development to Aging: Dynamic Roles of the Thymic Medulla in T Cell Biology

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 339, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The thymic medulla is essential for establishing central tolerance, orchestrating the development of a diverse yet self‐tolerant T cell repertoire, and preventing autoimmunity. This process is primarily mediated through interactions between developing thymocytes and antigen‐presenting cells, including thymic epithelial cells (TECs) and ...
