Divalent Metal‐Dependent Regulation of Hepcidin Expression by MTF‐1
There appears to be cross‐talk between metal ions and their acquisition pathways. In particular, zinc and iron reciprocally inhibit each other's uptake. Hepcidin, a small acute phase and antimicrobial peptide, is the principle regulator of iron absorption.

On-Orbit Modulation Transfer Function Estimation Based on the Refined Image Kernel
To overcome the limitations of traditional on-orbit modulation function transfer (MTF) measurement methods that are heavily dependent on natural features, scenery, artificial edges, and point source targets, this paper presents an on-orbit MTF ...

Characterization of the mouse gene for the heavy metal-responsive transcription factor MTF-1
MTF-1 is a zinc finger transcription factor that mediates the cellular response to heavy metal stress; its targeted disruption in the mouse leads to liver decay and embryonic lethality at day E14. Recently, we have sequenced the entire MTF-1 gene in the compact genome of the pufferfish Fugu rubripes. Here we have defined the promoter sequences of human

Texture MTF from images of natural scenes [PDF]
The implementation of automatic, adaptive filters in consumer imaging devices represents challenges to sharpness and resolution evaluation. The widely used e-SFR and other methods based on sine-waves and line targets are not necessarily representative of

MTF-1-Mediated Repression of the Zinc Transporter Zip10 Is Alleviated by Zinc Restriction
The regulation of cellular zinc uptake is a key process in the overall mechanism governing mammalian zinc homeostasis and how zinc participates in cellular functions. We analyzed the zinc transporters of the Zip family in both the brain and liver of zinc-deficient animals and found a large, significant increase in Zip10 expression.

Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.
