Effect of thermal manipulation during embryogenesis on gene expression of myogenic regulatory factors pre and post hatch in broilers

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2022
A total of 1,440 fertile eggs were divided randomly and equally into 5 treatment groups; control (no TM) and 4 treatment groups: TM1, TM2, TM3, and TM4 that were thermally subjected to 39°C for 18 h with 65% relative humidity daily, during embryonic ...

HDAC4 regulates skeletal muscle regeneration via soluble factors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Skeletal muscle possesses a high ability to regenerate after an insult or in pathological conditions, relying on satellite cells, the skeletal muscle stem cells.

Fast Quantitative Evaluation of the Amelioration Effect in MASLD During Semaglutide Treatment Using Ultrasound‐Derived Fat Fraction and Fat‐to‐Muscle Ratio

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, EarlyView.
Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a chronic liver disease. Research into a feasible, rapid, and effective assessment method is crucial for evaluating the therapeutic effects of semaglutide in MASLD. This prospective study utilized ultrasound‐derived fat fraction measurement and fat‐to‐muscle ratio to evaluate hepatic ...

miR-206 integrates multiple components of differentiation pathways to control the transition from growth to differentiation in rhabdomyosarcoma cells

open access: yesSkeletal Muscle, 2012
Background Similar to replicating myoblasts, many rhabdomyosarcoma cells express the myogenic determination gene MyoD. In contrast to myoblasts, rhabdomyosarcoma cells do not make the transition from a regulative growth phase to terminal differentiation.

Rhabdomyosarcoma: Advances in Molecular and Cellular Biology. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue malignancy in childhood and adolescence. The two major histological subtypes of RMS are alveolar RMS, driven by the fusion protein PAX3-FKHR or PAX7-FKHR, and embryonic RMS, which is usually ...

6‐Shogaol Attenuates Doxorubicin‐Induced Cardiac and Skeletal Muscle Atrophy by Inhibiting E3 Ubiquitin Ligases and Necroptosis

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
Doxorubicin induces cardiac and skeletal muscle atrophy by upregulating E3 ubiquitin ligases, inhibiting myogenic regulatory factors, and activating necroptosis. Cardiac atrophy can further exacerbate cardiotoxicity. 6‐Shogaol negatively regulates these processes and attenuates doxorubicin‐induced cardiac and skeletal muscle atrophy.

Chronic Alcohol Dysregulates Skeletal Muscle Myogenic Gene Expression after Hind Limb Immobilization in Female Rats

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2020
Alcohol use and aging are risk factors for falls requiring immobilization and leading to skeletal muscle atrophy. Skeletal muscle regeneration is integral to post-immobilization recovery.

Inhibition of Ornithine Decarboxylase 1 Mitigates Denervation‐Induced Muscle Atrophy by Suppressing Proteolysis and Preserving Muscle Stem Cell Homeostasis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Polyamine metabolism is innervation responsive and involved in denervation‐induced muscle atrophy. Inhibition of polyamine metabolism attenuates muscle atrophy by restraining proteolysis and preserving MuSCs homeostasis. Denervation‐induced activation of FAP‐derived FGF7 drives premature MuSCs activation, while DFMO suppresses this paracrine cue to ...
