Method for isolation of 2′-O-methylribonucleosides and N1-methyladenosine from ribonucleic acid
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1963Abstract N1-methyladenosine and the 2′-O-methyl derivatives of adenosine, uridine, guanosine, and cytidine have been isolated from yeast soluble RNA. A nucleoside mixture obtained by enzymic hydrolysis of the RNA was resolved by means of chromatography on partition columns into major fractions.

We describe the selective analysis of N-methylated ribonucleosides, i.e., N1-methyl adenosine (m1Ado) and N7-methyl guanosine (m7Guo) in the presence of other nucleosides in urine. m1Ado as well as m7Guo were characterized by use of chromatographic techniques including substance specific chemical reactions.
