METTL14‐Mediated m6A Methylation Preserves Cardiomyocyte Homeostasis and Attenuates Progeria‐Associated Cardiac Remodeling

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 10, October 2026.
Progerin accumulation downregulates the expression of m6A methyltransferases METTL3 and METTL14 in cardiac tissues, impairing m6A modification‐mediated regulation of target genes including Casq2, Ifna and Ifnb, leading to calcium signaling dysregulation and pro‐inflammatory activation in the aged heart.

Tumor‐Derived Exosomal piR‐hsa‐28212 Promotes Lymphatic Metastasis in Breast Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 10, Page 2733-2751, October 2026.
Breast cancer–derived exosomal piR‐hsa‐28212 promotes lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis by activating VEGFC/VEGFR3 signaling. It stabilizes TBX1 mRNA in lymphatic endothelial cells and METTL3 protein in tumor cells, enhancing VEGFR3 expression and VEGFC secretion.

N6‐Methyladenosine Demethylase FTO Protects Pancreatic ΒTC6 Cells From Cholesterol‐Triggered Damage by Regulating Nfatc4: Insights From RNA‐Seq Analysis

open access: yesChemical Biology &Drug Design, Volume 108, Issue 4, October 2026.
FTO Protects Mouse Pancreatic Beta‐TC‐6 cells From Cholesterol‐Triggered Damage by Repressing Nfatc4. ABSTRACT Excessive cholesterol contributes to pancreatic β‐cell dysfunction and plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of metabolic disorders.

Polyphenism Through RNA Chemical Modifications

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 19, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Polyphenism, the capacity of a single genotype to produce discrete phenotypes in response to environmental cues, has long served as a model for understanding developmental plasticity. While classical studies have highlighted hormonal signalling and transcription‐factor‐driven gene regulatory networks that mediate these environmentally induced ...

A DRACH Observed/Expected Metric Reveals the Evolutionary Landscape of Epitranscriptomic Regulation Across Bilateria

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1564, Issue 1, October 2026.
Epitranscriptomic marks are highly variable across life stages and tissues, complicating comparisons between species. Using m6A consensus motifs, we developed a genomic indicator reflecting transcript methylability, the DRACH o/e score, that we used to investigate epitranscriptomic features and associated functions across nine bilaterian species.
