Citrus depressa peel extract and its polymethoxyflavones mitigate acetaminophen‐induced chronic liver injury in mice through antioxidant activation, epigenetic regulation, and gut microbiota modulation

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Preventing chronic liver damage is essential for maintaining overall health and reducing the risk of serious liver diseases. Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose can lead to severe liver damage due to oxidative stress, and citrus fruits are rich in bioactive compounds that may have health benefits.

Naringin: Biosynthesis and Pharmaceutical Applications [PDF]

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2019
Naringin is a plant flavonoid of huge medicinal importance. It is synthesized by the phenylpropanoid pathway via seven enzyme catalysed steps from phenylalanine to prunin. The genes encoding the enzymes of phenylpropanoid pathway have been cloned and characterized. Naringin has been known to possess antioxidant, antiinflammatory and antitumer potential.

Regulation of heat shock proteins 27 and 70, p-Akt/p-eNOS and MAPKs by Naringin Dampens myocardial injury and dysfunction in vivo after ischemia/reperfusion. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Naringin has antioxidant properties that could improve redox-sensitive myocardial ischemia reperfusion (IR) injury. This study was designed to investigate whether naringin restores the myocardial damage and dysfunction in vivo after IR and the mechanisms

Metabolomics‐based study of the preservation mechanism of a tea saponin–cinnamaldehyde nanoemulsion applied to Xinyu tangerines

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The Xinyu tangerine is a geographical indication agricultural product from Jiangxi province, China. During postharvest storage, nutrient loss and pathogen‐induced decay reduce fruit quality. The selection of appropriate preservatives is therefore important for maintaining postharvest quality.

Naringin Ameliorates Monocrotaline-Induced Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Through Endothelial-To-Mesenchymal Transition Inhibition

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2021
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) caused by enhanced arterial pressure increases vessel resistance in the lung. Endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plays key roles in the vascular remodeling in PAH.
