Expression of BRCA1, NBR1 and NBR2 Genes in Human Breast Cancer Cells
BRCA1 is a tumour suppressor gene with a caretaker function in the DNA-damage repair and the maintenance of genome integrity. The human BRCA1 and NBR2 genes and the homologous Brca1 and Nbr1 mouse genes are situated head-to-head on ...

Glutamine deprivation triggers transient DNA damage yet activates adaptive repair in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. We identify TRIB3 as a stress‐induced nuclear scaffold that associates with DDX5 and G‐quadruplex DNA atBRCA1 andRAD51AP1 promoters. TRIB3 loss increases G4 accumulation, suppresses HR gene transcription, elevates γ‐H2A.X, and sensitizes

Membrane Contact Sites and Organelles Interaction in Plant Autophagy
Autophagy is an intracellular trafficking and degradation system for recycling of damaged organelles, mis-folded proteins and cytoplasmic constituents. Autophagy can be divided into non-selective autophagy and selective autophagy according to the cargo ...

The Hemoprotein Hhy1 Promotes Heme‐Dependent Catalase Activity of Ctt1
A Schizosaccharomyces pombe strain deficient in heme (hem1Δ) and siderophore (Fc) biosynthesis, as well as high‐affinity iron (Fe) uptake (blue), was used to uncover the hemoprotein Hhy1 that promotes the heme‐dependent activity of the catalase Ctt1. In contrast, hhy1Δ cells exhibit reduced Ctt1 activity and increased sensitivity to oxidative stress ...

MoHrd3 plays a crucial role in regulating the pathogenicity of Magnaporthe oryzae. As an ER‐associated degradation component, MoHrd3 involves in ER stress‐triggered autophagy. It facilitates the fusion between the autophagosome and the vacuole via enhancing the interaction between MoAtg8 and MoYpt7.

Phosphorylation of Optineurin by TBK1 induces the formation of filaments that condensate upon binding to linear polyubiquitin. Membrane‐anchored LC3 partitions into these condensates, suggesting that phase separation of filamentous Optineurin with ubiquitylated cargo promotes the sequestration of cargo and its subsequent alignment with LC3‐positive ...

A Model of Autophagy Size Selectivity by Receptor Clustering on Peroxisomes
Selective autophagy must not only select the correct type of organelle, but also must discriminate between individual organelles of the same kind so that some but not all of the organelles are removed.
