Species-specific nested PCR as a diagnostic tool for Brucella ovis infection in rams Nested PCR espécie-específica para o diagnóstico da infecção por Brucella ovis em carneiros

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2013
The aim of the present study was to evaluate a species-specific nested PCR based on a previously described species-specific PCR for detection of B. ovis in semen and urine samples of experimentally infected rams.

Use of a nested PCR-enzyme immunoassay with an internal control to detect Chlamydophila psittaci in turkeys

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2005
Background Laboratory diagnosis of Chlamydophila psittaci, an important turkey respiratory pathogen, is difficult. To facilitate the diagnosis, a nested PCR-enzyme immunoassay (PCR-EIA) was developed to detect the Cp.

Diagnosis of canine coronavirus infection using nested-PCR

open access: yesJournal of Virological Methods, 2000
The results of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and nested polymerase chain reaction (n-PCR) assays for the diagnosis of canine coronavirus (CCV) infection, and the comparison with other diagnostic techniques, such as electron microscopy (EM) and virus isolation using A-72 cell line are reported.

Development of an Rt Nested PCR-Elisa Diagnostic Test for the Detection of Newcastle Disease Virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Newcastle disease virus causes an economically important poultry disease known as Newcastle disease in Malaysia. The velogenic strain of this virus causes 1 00% mortality in infected chicken.

Atrophic Skeletal Muscle‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Transfer miR‐125a‐5p to Inhibit Bone Formation in Osteoporosis during Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A muscle‐bone endocrine pathway in aging is revealed in which extracellular vesicles released from atrophic skeletal muscle (Aged‐SKM‐EVs) inhibit bone formation. These EVs deliver miR‐125a‐5p to osteoblasts, thereby suppressing the SIRT7‐Sp7 signaling axis and osteogenic differentiation.

Detection of Mycobacterium bovis in bovine and bubaline tissues using nested-PCR for TbD1. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
In the present study, a nested-PCR system, targeting the TbD1 region, involving the performance of conventional PCR followed by real-time PCR, was developed to detect Mycobacterium bovis in bovine/bubaline tissue homogenates.

Nested PCR in magnetically actuated circular closed-loop PCR microchip system [PDF]

open access: yesMicrochimica Acta, 2012
We demonstrate a new and sensitive amplifica- tion technique (referred to as Nested Polymerase Chain Reaction; nPCR). It based on a magnetically actuated circu- lar closed-loop PCR microchip system. nPCR involves the use of two sets of primers in two successive PCR runs, and allows the amplification of a single locus from a minute quantity of template ...

Phytoplasma detection in coconut palm and other tropical crops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Phytoplasmas are small bacteria with very small genomes which also have extremely low levels of the nucleotides guanine plus cytosine (G+C). They are associated with hundreds of plant diseases globally.

Detection of HIV-1 infection in dried blood spots from a 12-year-old ABO bedside test card [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Background and Objectives: We tested dried blood from an ABO bedside test card which had been stored at room temperature for 12 years, to prove that a patient with HIV-1 infection had been infected by blood transfusion. Materials and Methods: Immunoblots

Cuproptosis and Disulfidptosis Converge to Empower PD‐L1 Checkpoint Therapy via Cadict‐Induced PD‐L1 Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces Cadict, an EGFR‐targeted nanodrug that co‐delivers cuproptosis and disulfidptosis inducers to overcome immune resistance. Cadict synergistically enhances tumor cytotoxicity and sensitizes cancers to ICIs by upregulating PD‐L1 via an Eif5b‐dependent translation mechanism, fostering a potent antitumor immune response and ...
