IRF4b and IRF8 Negatively Regulate RLR-Mediated NF-κB Signaling by Targeting MITA for Degradation in Teleost Fish

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
Mediator of IRF3 activation (MITA) is a significant signal adaptor in the retinoic acid-inducible gene-I like receptor (RLR) signaling pathway and plays an important role in the innate immune system.

Efficacy of herb-partitioned moxibustion at Qihai (CV 6) and bilateral Tianshu (ST 25) on colonic damage and the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway in rats with Crohn's disease

open access: yesJournal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 2018
To observe the effect of stimulating Qihai (CV 6) and bilateral Tianshu (ST 25) with herb-partitioned moxibustion (HPM) in rats with Crohn's disease (CD), and to investigate the possible anti-inflammatory mechanism of HPM.Forty rats were randomly divided into four groups (n = 10 rats per group): normal control (NC), model control (MC), mesalamine (MES),

Modulation of TLR/NF-κB/NLRP Signaling by Bioactive Phytocompounds: A Promising Strategy to Augment Cancer Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2022
BackgroundTumors often progress to a more aggressive phenotype to resist drugs. Multiple dysregulated pathways are behind this tumor behavior which is known as cancer chemoresistance. Thus, there is an emerging need to discover pivotal signaling pathways

First Insight into the Modulation of Noncanonical NF-κB Signaling Components by Poxviruses in Established Immune-Derived Cell Lines: An In Vitro Model of Ectromelia Virus Infection

open access: yesPathogens, 2020
Dendritic cells (DCs) and macrophages are the first line of antiviral immunity. Viral pathogens exploit these cell populations for their efficient replication and dissemination via the modulation of intracellular signaling pathways.

TRIM14 Promotes Noncanonical NF‐κB Activation by Modulating p100/p52 Stability via Selective Autophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2020
The noncanonical NF‐κB signaling pathway plays a critical role in a variety of biological functions including chronic inflammation and tumorigenesis. Activation of noncanonical NF‐κB signaling largely relies on the abundance as well as the processing of ...

lncRNA-PLACT1 sustains activation of NF-κB pathway through a positive feedback loop with IκBα/E2F1 axis in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2020
Background The activation of NF-κB signaling pathway is regarded as the dominant process that correlates with tumorigenesis. Recently, increasing evidence shows that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in sustaining the NF-κB signaling ...

Functions of Drosophila Toll/NF-κB signaling in imaginal tissue homeostasis and cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
The Toll/NF-κB pathway plays a central role in patterning the Drosophila embryo and in orchestrating the innate immune response against microbial infections. Both discoveries were associated with a Nobel Prize award and led to the recognition of the Toll-

Novel Phosphorylations of IKKγ/NEMO

open access: yesmBio, 2012
Central to NF-κB signaling pathways is IKKγ/NEMO, a regulatory subunit of the cytoplasmic IκB kinase (IKK) complex, which undergoes various posttranslational modifications, specifically phosphorylation, to regulate its function.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Citrulline inhibits LPS‐induced pyroptosis of RAW264.7 macrophages through NF‐κB signaling pathway

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, 2023
Background The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of citrulline on the pyroptosis of mouse macrophage RAW264.7 and the mechanism. We investigated the effect of citrulline on pyroptosis of RAW264.7 cell induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS ...
