Cystamine protects from 3-nitropropionic acid lesioning via induction of nf-e2 related factor 2 mediated transcription [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Neurology, 2010
Systemic administration of cystamine is known to protect from both chemical and genetic models of neurotoxicity. Despite positive effects in laboratory models, cystamine has not been successfully translated to clinical application for neurodegenerative disease.

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Aryl hydrocarbon receptor and NF-E2-related factor 2 are key regulators of human MRP4 expression

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 2010
Multidrug resistance protein 4 (MRP4; ABCC4) is an ATP binding cassette transporter that facilitates the excretion of bile salt conjugates and other conjugated steroids in hepatocytes and renal proximal tubule epithelium. MRP4/Mrp4 undergoes adaptive upregulation in response to oxidative and cholestatic liver injury in human and animal models of ...

MG53 Coordinates Macrophage Polarization and Neuroimmune Coupling to Promote Corneal Nerve Regeneration via the MPEG1–MVP–STAT6 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Corneal nerve regeneration is critical to corneal wound healing processes. The current study reveals a novel role of MG53 in promoting corneal nerve regeneration after alkali induced injury. Mechanistically, MG53 enters macrophages via its receptor, MPEG1, promotes MVP K63 ubiquitination, and triggers STAT6 induced repair‐related genes expression ...

Expression and Significance of Nrf2 and Its Target Genes in Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma A549 Cells Resistant to Cisplatin

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2009
Background and objective Nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a key transcription factor in oxidation-reduction reaction. It has been proved that Nrf2 is relevant to cisplatin-resistance in ovarian cancer cells. Up to now, little is know

The Omega deformed B-model for rigid N=2 theories

open access: yes, 2013
We give an interpretation of the Omega deformed B-model that leads naturally to the generalized holomorphic anomaly equations. Direct integration of the latter calculates topological amplitudes of four dimensional rigid N=2 theories explicitly in general

Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non‐invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta‐band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro and augments hippocampal neurogenesis in amouse model of Alzheimer's disease‐like amyloidosis.

Fisetin Inhibits Osteoclastogenesis Through Prevention of RANKL-Induced ROS Production by Nrf2-Mediated Up-regulation of Phase II Antioxidant Enzymes

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2013
.: Osteoclasts (OCLs) are multinucleated bone-resorbing cells that are differentiated by stimulation with receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL) and macrophage colony-stimulating factor.

Therapeutic targeting of the NRF2 and KEAP1 partnership in chronic diseases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The transcription factor NF-E2 p45-related factor 2 (NRF2; encoded by NFE2L2) and its principal negative regulator, the E3 ligase adaptor Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (KEAP1), are critical in the maintenance of redox, metabolic and protein ...
