Effects of tempol on renal medullary tissue hypoxia in an ovine model of Gram‐negative septic acute kidney injury

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Renal arterial infusion of tempol (RAT) at the onset of Gram‐negative sepsis can prevent sepsis‐induced medullary tissue hypoxia and acute kidney injury (AKI). However, it is not known whether treatment with tempol at a clinically relevant time point of sepsis is similarly effective. Thus, we examined whether tempol can reverse renal medullary

Electrophilic Iodination of Heterocyclic Compounds. Recent Advances 2008–2025: Part II

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 22, 9 June 2026.
Electrophilic iodination using molecular iodine and iodide sources represents an efficient approach for accessing valuable iodinated organic compounds. This review highlights recent advances in the iodination of heterocyclic compounds from 2008 to 2025, emphasizing the role of heteroaryl iodides as important synthetic intermediates for biologically ...

Lighting the Path to Cyclic Phosphonamides via Halogen‐Bond Electron Donor–Acceptor Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
Cyclic phosphinamides are valuable scaffolds for optoelectronic applications, yet remain difficult to access with existing methods. Here, we highlight a mild and straightforward visible light‐driven strategy that enables the formation of cyclic phosphinamides and thiophosphinamides.

Nitroxide malonate methanofullerene as biomimetic model of interaction of nitroxide species with antioxidants

open access: yesColloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2015
Bis-nitroxide malonate methanofullerene (NO)2-MF was studied as a biomimetic model of reduction-oxidation activity with natural compounds-cytochrome c (cyt c), dihydroquercetin (DHQ), ascorbic acid (AA) and synthetic drug-1-(β-oxyethyl)-4,6-dimethyl-1,2-dihydro-2-oxopyrimidine (xymedon(®)).

A profluorescent azaphenalene nitroxide for nitroxide-mediated polymerization

open access: yes, 2011
A novel nitroxide-mediated polymerization (NMP) control agent; 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-2,3-dihydro-2-azaphenalen-2-yloxyl (TMAO), was used in the free-radical polymerization of styrene. The conversion of styrene during NMP was studied using FT-Raman spectroscopy and the effectiveness of TMAO as a NMP control agent was assessed by GPC analysis.
