Two novel bonded BN‐doped polycyclic hydrocarbons BN‐Dira and BN‐Tetra with open‐shell character were rationally designed and synthesized. Their molecular structures were unambiguously confirmed by crystallographic analysis. Facilitated by their intense absorption in the NIR region, high PCE (83.6%) and good photothermal stability, BN‐Dira and BN‐Tetra

Synthesis of 1-azaspiro[4.4]nonan-1-oxyls via intramolecular 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition
Sterically shielded nitroxides of the pyrrolidine series have shown the highest resistance to reduction. Here we report the synthesis of new pyrrolidine nitroxides from 5,5-dialkyl-1-pyrroline N-oxides via the introduction of a pent-4-enyl group to the ...

Synthesis of Nitroxide Diradical Using a New Approach
A new synthetic pathway to diradical organic systems is proposed. The effectiveness of this approach was exemplified by the synthesis of a new nitroxide diradical. An interaction of perfluorobiphenyl with lithium tert-butylamide, followed by oxidation of

Computation of nitroxide–nitroxide distances in spin‐labeled DNA duplexes [PDF]
AbstractNanometer distances in nucleic acids can be measured by EPR using two 1‐oxyl‐2,2,5,5‐tetramethylpyrroline radicals, with each label attached via a methylene group to a phosphorothioate‐substituted backbone position as one of two phosphorothioate diastereomers (RP and SP).

Cyclic nitroxides inhibit the toxicity of nitric oxide-derived oxidants: mechanisms and implications
The substantial therapeutic potential of tempol (4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy) and related cyclic nitroxides as antioxidants has stimulated innumerous studies of their reactions with reactive oxygen species.

Synthesis of two novel pyridine annulated pyrrolidine nitroxides
Two novel, unsubstituted, pyridine-annulated pyrrolidine nitroxides; 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridin-2-yloxyl and 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridin-5-oxide-2-yloxyl were synthesized in overall yield of ~15%

Electrolyte–Framework Matching in High‐Voltage TEMPO‐COF Cathodes for Lithium Batteries
TEMPO‐functionalized covalent organic frameworks are investigated as high‐voltage cathodes for lithium batteries. Screening five electrolyte anions identifies lithium difluoro(oxalato)borate (LiDFOB) as the optimal electrolyte, balancing capacity, rate capability, and cycling stability, while buckypaper electrodes achieve high mass loading (40 mg cm−2)
