Molecular Engineering of Polytriphenylamine: A Fluorinated Cathode for High‐Voltage, Ultrafast, and Stable Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorination of polytriphenylamine lowers the HOMO energy, enabling high‐voltage operation of the PFTPA cathode. Electron‐withdrawing F substituents stabilize the nitrogen redox center and suppress polarization, leading to fast kinetics. The optimized polymer delivers ∼3.75 V vs.

Practical N-Hydroxyphthalimide-Mediated Oxidation of Sulfonamides to N-Sulfonylimines

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
A new method to prepare sulfonylimines through the oxidation of sulfonamides mediated by N-hydroxyphthalimide under mild conditions has been developed. Compared to reported oxidation methods, broader substrates scope and milder conditions were achieved ...

A Computational Journey across Nitroxide Radicals: From Structure to Spectroscopic Properties and Beyond

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Nitroxide radicals are characterized by a long-lived open-shell electronic ground state and are strongly sensitive to the chemical environment, thus representing ideal spin probes and spin labels for paramagnetic biomolecules and materials.

Spatial structure regulation towards armor-clad five-membered pyrroline nitroxides catholyte for long-life aqueous organic redox flow batteries

open access: yeseScience
Five-membered pyrroline nitroxides with high-potential is fascinating as catholyte for aqueous organic redox flow batteries (AORFBs), however, it suffers from a primary deficiency of insufficient stability due to ring-opening side reaction.

Reactions of nitroxides XIII: Synthesis of the Morita–Baylis–Hillman adducts bearing a nitroxyl moiety using 4-acryloyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl as a starting compound, and DABCO and quinuclidine as catalysts

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
The Morita–Baylis–Hillman adducts bearing a nitroxyl moiety were synthesized from 4-acryloyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl and aliphatic, aryl and heterocyclic aldehydes.

Interplay of Bridge Topology and Conformation in Phenylene‐Bridged Trityl Diradicals

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We present a meta‐phenylene‐bridged trityl diradical that exhibits an unexpectedly weak antiferromagnetic exchange coupling J with a strong environment‐dependent magnitude. Combined VSM, EPR, DFT, and MD studies reveal that structural flexibility modulates σ‐, π‐, and through‐space exchange contributions, highlighting the crucial role of geometry in ...
