In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

Uromyces appendiculatus is a major pathogen on common bean. Like other rust fungi, it uses effectors to influence its host plant. Effectors are assumed to possess characteristic expression profiles, reflecting their activity during the infection process.

Felis catus papillomavirus type 2 infection and skin cancer in domestic cats : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Science at Massey University, Manawatū, New Zealand [PDF]
Felis catus papillomavirus type 2 (FcaPV-2) is a virus which commonly infects the skin of domestic cats. While most infections are asymptomatic, there is growing evidence that FcaPV-2 may play a role in the development of a subset of feline cutaneous ...

Small extracellular vesicles are a promising source of diagnostic molecules. We conducted a comprehensive study, including transcriptome profiling and RT‐qPCR validation on large cohorts of samples. Diagnostic panels enabling sensitive detection of colorectal cancer and precancerous lesions were established. Some molecules were differentially expressed

18S rRNA is a reliable normalisation gene for real time PCR based on influenza virus infected cells [PDF]
Background: One requisite of quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) is to normalise the data with an internal reference gene that is invariant regardless of treatment, such as virus infection.

A transcriptomic atlas facilitating systems biology approaches in pea
Abstract Pea is a model organism in biology and an agronomic crop, entering the genomics era. Although RNA‐sequencing (RNA‐seq) has become the main transcriptomic approach in biology, there is currently no genome‐wide expression atlas covering a wide range of biological conditions for this species.

Identifying the most suitable endogenous control for determining gene expression in hearts from organ donors [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Quantitative real-time reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) is a useful tool for assessing gene expression in different tissues, but the choice of adequate controls is critical to normalise the results, thereby avoiding differences and ...

Paracrine FGF4 from EPI precursor cells promotes lactate synthesis within PrE precursor cells, while the increased lactate in turn stimulates FGF‐ERK signalling via lactate shuttling. The increased lactate in PrE precursor cells directly promotes PrE formation by elevating the level of histone lactylation. ABSTRACT Lactate has been widely recognised as

Identification of stably expressed reference small non-coding RNAs for microRNA quantification in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma tissues [PDF]
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) belong to a family of small non‐coding RNAs (sncRNAs) playing important roles in human carcinogenesis. Multiple investigations reported miRNAs aberrantly expressed in several cancers, including high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGS ...
