Renal expression of Bach1 and oxidative stress in chronic kidney disease: evidence from a preclinical model [PDF]
Introduction: The transcription factor BTB and CNC homology 1 (Bach1) represses the nuclear factor erythroid 2–related factor 2 (Nrf2), which controls antioxidant gene expression, and its role in chronic kidney disease (CKD) remains unclear.

NRF2 function in osteocytes is required for bone homeostasis and drives osteocytic gene expression
Osteocytes, the most abundant bone cell type, are derived from osteoblasts through a process in which they are embedded in an osteoid. We previously showed that nutrient restriction promotes the osteocyte transcriptional program and is associated with increased mitochondrial biogenesis.

Gene Expression of Nrf2 and KEAP1 in Monocytes of Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
In chronic kidney disease (CKD), oxidative stress and inflammation contribute to disease progression and CKD-related morbidity. The nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) system plays a central role in the cellular response to oxidative and inflammatory stress.

Triptolide Downregulates the Expression of NRF2 Target Genes by Increasing Cytoplasmic Localization of NRF2 in A549 Cells [PDF]
We have identified triptolide as a novel NRF2 inhibitor, which significantly attenuates ARE-luciferase activity at nanomolar concentrations. Triptolide did not affect the level of NRF2, but significantly inhibited the expression of NRF2 target genes in A549 cells.
