Direct Optical Detection of Viral Nucleoprotein Binding to an Anti-Influenza Aptamer

open access: yes, 2016
We have demonstrated label-free optical detection of viral nucleoprotein binding to a polyvalent anti-influenza aptamer by monitoring the surface-enhanced Raman (SERS) spectra of the aptamer-nucleoprotein complex.

Periplasmic Nanobody-APEX2 Fusions Enable Facile Visualization of Ebola, Marburg, and Mĕnglà virus Nucleoproteins, Alluding to Similar Antigenic Landscapes among Marburgvirus and Dianlovirus

open access: yesViruses, 2019
We explore evolved soybean ascorbate peroxidase (APEX2) as a reporter when fused to the C-termini of llama nanobodies (single-domain antibodies, sdAb; variable domains of heavy chain-only antibodies, VHH) targeted to the E. coli periplasm.

Re‐emergent snakehead rhabdovirus in Thailand after two decades: Isolation and genomic characterization

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Snakehead rhabdovirus (SHRV) is a novirhabdovirus associated with disease outbreaks in warm‐water fish in Southeast Asia, including striped snakehead (Channa striata), but recent information on SHRV in Thai snakehead aquaculture remains limited.

Activation of the interferon induction cascade by influenza A viruses requires viral RNA synthesis and nuclear export

open access: yes, 2014
This work is supported by grants from the Wellcome Trust (grants 087751/A/08/Z) and MRC (G1001726/1).We have examined the requirements for virus transcription and replication and thus the roles of input and progeny genomes in the generation of interferon

The Functional Study of the N-Terminal Region of Influenza B Virus Nucleoprotein [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Influenza nucleoprotein (NP) is a major component of the ribonucleoprotein (vRNP) in influenza virus, which functions for the transcription and replication of viral genome.

Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) in fish and its consequences for fish farming: A comprehensive review

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Viral diseases are a major concern in finfish aquaculture, leading to severe health problems. Infectious hematopoietic necrosis (IHN) is a highly transmissible systemic viral disease that primarily affects salmonids, causing significant mortality and economic losses to the salmonid farming industry.

Obtaining a Recombinant Nucleoprotein of the Puumala Virus for Serological Diagnostics of Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome

open access: yesПроблемы особо опасных инфекций
Puumala virus (Orthohantavirus puumalaense) is one of the causative agents of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), which is widespread in the Russian Federation (RF): more than 6 thousand cases of HFRS infection are registered annually, over the

Mothers Matter Most: Maternal, but Not Paternal, Age and Inbreeding Affect Nestling Telomere Length in a Wild Passerine

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 12, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Early‐life telomere length can be an integrated and accessible biomarker of lifetime fitness. Telomere length can result from complex interactions between heritable genetic variation, inherited gametic variation and accumulated environmental effects acting on individuals and parents.

Atomic force microscopy of nucleoprotein complexes.

open access: yes, 1995
Recent data on the AFM studies of nucleoprotein complexes of different types are reviewed in this paper. The first section describes the progress in the sample preparation methods for AFM studies of nucleic acids and nucleoprotein complexes.

On a nucleoprotein isolated from human and animal tissue with collagen-precipitating properties. II. The collagen-precipitating properties of the nucleoprotein

open access: yes, 1966
