In Situ Photo‑Crosslinked Functional Bilayer Hydrogel Modulates Local Microenvironment and Remyelination After Optic Nerve Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A blue‐light‐crosslinked bilayer hydrogel was developed for local optic nerve repair. The adhesive GM‐Odex outer layer seals and anchors the lesion, while the non‐adhesive GM‐imid inner layer releases MPDA‐Cle without obstructing CSF flow. This system modulates oxidative and inflammatory microenvironments, supports oligodendrocyte differentiation and ...

AARS2‐SIRT5‐Driven DLD K445 Lactylation Promotes Cuproptosis Resistance in Glioblastoma Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactylation of DLD at K445 by AARS2 suppresses PDH complex activity and reduces DLAT lipoylation, thereby conferring cuproptosis resistance in glioblastoma stem cells. SIRT5‐mediated delactylation restores PDH function and enhances cuproptosis sensitivity.

Corticosteroids reverse cytokine-induced block of survival and differentiation of oligodendrocyte progenitor cells from rats

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation, 2008
Background Periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) is a frequent complication of preterm delivery. Proinflammatory cytokines, such as interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) released from astrocytes and microglia activated by infection or ...

Cspg4 sculpts oligodendrocyte precursor cell morphology

open access: yesDifferentiation
Abstract The extracellular matrix (ECM) provides critical biochemical and structural cues that regulate neural development. Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans (CSPGs), a major ECM component, have been implicated in modulating oligodendrocyte precursor cell (OPC) proliferation, migration, and maturation, but their ...

Oligodendrocyte precursor cell states and their regulation

open access: yes, 2023
Oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) differentiate into myelinating oligodendrocytes throughout life, allowing the formation of myelin during early development, but also following learning or demyelinating injuries. A number of factors are thought to regulate OPC proliferation and differentiation, including neuronal activity, which OPCs can sense and

Mitochondrial Protection and Neural Repair via ROS‐Responsive Biomimetic Nanoparticles in Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A ROS‐responsive biomimetic nanoparticle platform co‐delivers DIDS and Mdivi‐1 to protect mitochondria and promote neural repair after intracerebral hemorrhage. By targeting LPAR1/VDAC1‐related mitochondrial dysfunction, the nanotherapy reduces oxidative injury, neuronal apoptosis, and blood‐brain barrier disruption, improving neurological recovery and

Engineering a CRISPRoff Platform to Modulate Expression of Myeloid Cell Leukemia (MCL-1) in Committed Oligodendrocyte Neural Precursor Cells

open access: yesBio-Protocol
In vitro differentiation of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) model systems has furthered our understanding of human development. Techniques used to elucidate gene function during early development have encountered technical challenges, especially when ...

Oral Actinomyces Species Exposure is Associated with Anxiety‐Like Behavior, Mitochondrial Remodeling, and Altered GABAergic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oral exposure to cannabis‐associated Actinomyces species, particularly A. meyeri, is associated with anxiety‐like behavior in mice in the absence of detectable bacterial translocation or overt systemic inflammation. These findings support a potential oral‐brain metabolic axis involving candidate metabolites such as arginine and argininosuccinate ...

Oligodendrocyte progenitor cells: the ever mitotic cells of the CNS

open access: yes, 2016
Oligodendrocyte Progenitor Cells (OPCs) first appear at mid embryogenic stages during development of the mammalian CNS and a mitotically active population of them remains present even into late adulthood.

β‐Adducin Restrains PLA2G4A‐Dependent Lysosomal Membrane Permeabilization and Neuronal Death in Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies β‐adducin as a regulator of lysosomal integrity in ischemic neurons. Ischemia‐associated FTO loss increases m6A modification and destabilizes Add2 mRNA, reducing β‐adducin expression and promoting PLA2G4A accumulation at lysosomes.
