Photochemical approach to functionalized benzobicyclo[3.2.1]octene structures via fused oxazoline derivatives from 4- and 5-(o-vinylstyryl)oxazoles

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
Novel cis/trans-4- and cis/trans-5-(2-vinylstyryl)oxazoles have been synthesized by Wittig reactions from the diphosphonium salt of α,α’-o-xylene dibromide, formaldehyde and 4- and 5-oxazolecarbaldehydes, respectively. In contrast, trans-5-(2-vinylstyryl)

Diarylethene‐Containing Photoswitchable Analogues of Tubulysins—Design, Synthesis, Biological, and Structural Evaluation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Diarylethene‐containing cyclic tubulysin analogues were designed, synthesized, and evaluated as light‐responsive cytotoxic agents. One analogue showed reversible photoswitching, photoregulated tubulin polymerization inhibition, and photoform‐dependent cytotoxicity.

Truncation of Samroiyotmycin: Tailored seco‐Acids as Novel Antimalaria Compounds

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Six truncated samroiyotmycin‐derived antimalarials were synthesized by replacing the tosyloxazole unit with electron‐deficient aryl groups. The most active seco‐acid with EWG = 2 × CF3 outperformed the natural product SamA. Its enhanced activity supports a donor–acceptor interaction involving the electron‐poor aryl unit, consistent with inhibition of ...

Recent advances and prospects for high‐efficiency blue hot exciton organic light‐emitting diodes

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Blue organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) face great challenges in achieving the balance between color purity, device efficiency, and stability. Hot exciton materials offer a solution by rapidly converting non‐emissive triplet excitons into singlet ones through a high‐lying reverse intersystem crossing process.

Pyridine C─N Transposition via Cycloaddition–Cycloreversion

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 29, 13 July 2026.
Transposition of pyridine nitrogen from the 4‐ to the 3‐position is described using two open and shut sequences: a nucleophile addition ring‐open ring‐closure, followed by a nitrile Diels–Alder cycloaddition cycloreversion. The nitrogen swap is particularly effective for tertiary alkyl substituents, transforming easily accessible para‐alkylated ...

Fish Sperm Subpopulations Detection, Separation, and Application: Current State and Trends

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 4, September 2026.
Modern advances in sperm biology highlight the necessity of recognising intra‐ejaculate heterogeneity as a central concept for advancing both the fundamental understanding of fertilisation processes and the development of artificial reproduction techniques in fishes. ABSTRACT Sperm subpopulations represent a fundamental manifestation of intra‐ejaculate
