Mapping Causal Biology: Mendelian Randomization in the Era of Big Data

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
Mendelian randomization (MR) leverages genetic variants to mitigate confounding biases in causal inference. This review systematically maps MR's methodological evolution, highlights its expanding applications in epidemiology and drug target validation, and outlines future directions for overcoming current biases through dynamic, multi‐omics, and cross ...

Low dose radiation regulates BRAF-induced thyroid cellular dysfunction and transformation

open access: yesCell Communication and Signaling, 2019
Background The existence of differentiated thyroid cells is critical to respond radioactive iodide treatment strategy in thyroid cancer, and loss of the differentiated phenotype is a trademark of iodide-refractive thyroid disease. While high-dose therapy

GLIS3 mediated by the Rap1/PI3K/AKT signal pathway facilitates real-ambient PM2.5 exposure disturbed thyroid hormone homeostasis regulation

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2022
Exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) could damage multiple organs and systems. Recent epidemiological studies have shown that PM2.5 can disrupt dynamic balance of thyroid hormone (TH).

Phthalate Metabolite, Mono(2‐Ethyl‐5‐Hydroxyhexyl) Phthalate (MEHHP), Promotes Uterine‐Fibroid–Associated Phenotypes in Myometrial Stem Cell‐Derived 3D Organoids

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how phthalate exposure contributes to uterine fibroid (UF) development by studying the effects of the Mono‐(2‐ethyl‐5‐hydroxyhexyl) phthalate (MEHHP), a metabolite of Di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate, on myometrial stem cells (MMSCs).

Tissue Factor‐High Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma Shows Immune‐Cold Features and Preclinical Activity of Tisotumab Vedotin

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
F3/TF‐high ovarian clear cell carcinoma exhibits an immune‐cold phenotype characterized by reduced immune‐cell fractions and attenuated cancer‐cell interferon programs, with frequent B7‐H4 co‐expression. Patient‐derived models show preclinical sensitivity to the TF‐directed antibody–drug conjugate tisotumab vedotin.

BET Proteins Regulate Expression of Osr1 in Early Kidney Development

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2021
In utero renal development is subject to maternal metabolic and environmental influences affecting long-term renal function and the risk of developing chronic kidney failure and cardiovascular disease.

NF-κB p65 Subunit Mediates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Na+/ISymporter Gene Expression by Involving Functional Interaction with the Paired Domain Transcription Factor Pax8 [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Endocrinology, 2010
The Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) elicits a variety of biological responses. Na(+)/I(-) symporter (NIS)-mediated iodide uptake is the main rate-limiting step in thyroid hormonogenesis. We have recently reported that LPS stimulates TSH-induced iodide uptake.

Wt1 Is Required for the Regression of Müllerian Ducts in Male Mice by Inducing Wif1 and Osx Expression

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Wt1 expressed in the MD mesenchyme promotes MD regression by inducing Wif1 and Osx transcription. In male mice, mesenchyme‐specific inactivation of Wt1 results in MD retention. ABSTRACT In mammals, Müllerian ducts (MDs) are the precursors of the female reproductive tract which regress in males during embryonic development.

Current Advances of Molecular Biomarkers and Liquid Biopsies Techniques in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Ovarian cancer (OC) remains a lethal gynecological malignancy with challenges in early diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and overcoming drug resistance. Liquid biopsy, a noninvasive approach analyzing tumor‐derived components in bodily fluids, has emerged as a promising tool in OC management.

NEUROSENSORY DIFFERENTIATION AND INNERVATION PATTERNING IN THE HUMAN FOETAL VESTIBULAR END ORGANS BETWEEN THE GESTATIONAL WEEKS 8 TO 12

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroanatomy, 2016
Balance orientation depends on the precise operation of the vestibular end organs and the vestibular ganglion neurons. Previous research on the assemblage of the neuronal network in the developing foetal vestibular organ has been limited to data from ...
