Beyond IHC Stain: Mitochondria as a Histochemical Biomarker for Apoptosis Detection in Hepatic Tissue Sections

open access: yesAnatomia, Histologia, Embryologia, Volume 55, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Apoptosis plays a critical role in maintaining tissue homeostasis and preventing pathological conditions. The accurate detection of apoptosis is crucial for both research and diagnostic pathology, yet conventional histological staining methods often lack the sensitivity to identify early apoptotic changes.

T‐bet Fate Mapping Reveals Gestational Stage‐Specific Transcriptional Adaptation of Decidual NK Cells

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Reproductive Immunology, Volume 95, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Problem Natural killer (NK) cells are critical regulators of immune balance at the maternal–fetal interface. T‐bet (Tbx21) is a key transcription factor shaping NK cell effector functions, yet its role in decidual NK (dNK) cell adaptation across gestation remains unclear.

Alpha‐Fetoprotein Stimulates Cleavage of Membranal MICA/B on Liver Cancer Cell Lead to Escape Immune Surveillance of Natural Killer Cells

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 5, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) could escape immune surveillance. Alpha‐fetoprotein (AFP) serves as a significant biomarker for HCC; however, its influence on HCC immune surveillance remains elusive. RNA‐Seq data of HCC were obtained from TCGA and GEO databases for the expression of AFP, MICA/B, and related genes.

Unraveling Lysosomal Exocytosis: From Molecular Mechanisms to Physiological Functions

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 1, March 2026.
Lysosomal exocytosis is propelled by specific molecular mechanisms that direct its microtubule‐dependent transport and subsequent fusion with the plasma membrane. This process fulfills essential physiological functions such as plasma membrane repair, maintenance of cellular homeostasis, and participation in signal transduction.
