Increased Expression of PHGDH Under High-Selenium Stress In Vivo

Biological Trace Element Research
The purpose of this study is to explore the glycolytic remodeling under high-selenium (Se) stress. Three groups of male C57BL/6J mice were fed on diets with different Se contents (0.03, 0.15, and 0.30 mg Se/kg). Glucose tolerance test (GTT) and insulin tolerance test (ITT) were measured at the third month. Mice were killed at the fourth month.

Comparative Analysis of the Effects of PSPH and PHGDH Inhibitors on Tumor Cell Proliferation

Investigational New Drugs
Abstract Serine metabolism plays a critical role in supporting the rapid proliferation of tumor cells, with PHGDH recognized as a key rate-limiting enzyme and therapeutic target. However, whether its antitumor effects are solely dependent on serine metabolism remains under debate. In this study, we systematically compared the effects of

PHGDH alleviates DKD by regulating YB1/SLC7A11-mediated ferroptosis in podocytes

Translational Research
Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a main cause of end-stage renal disorder, yet its pathogenesis is still incompletely understood. Ferroptosis has been implicated in DKD progression; however, its regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. Phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH), a key enzyme in serine biosynthesis, has been minimally studied in DKD ...

The role of PHGDH in hypoxic adaptation and metabolic reprogramming

Hypoxia is a common feature of solid tumours and is associated with poor prognosis and resistance to therapy. Attempts to therapeutically target hypoxic tumour cells have shown limited clinical success. This thesis investigates the role of phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH), the rate-limiting enzyme of the serine synthesis pathway (SSP), in hypoxic
