Background Triacylglycerols (TAGs) rich in medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs, C10–14 fatty acids) are valuable feedstocks for biofuels and chemicals. Natural sources of TAGs rich in MCFAs are restricted to a limited number of plant species, which are ...

pH and chain length dependence of phosphatidic acid phase transition parameters
A growing interest can be observed in the literature in the behaviour of phosphatidic acids. The aim of this work was to investigate the influence of pH on the transition temperatures and enthalpies of aqueous PA dispersions.

Phosphatidic acid, phospholipase D and tumorigenesis
Phospholipase D (PLD) is a membrane protein with a double role: maintenance of the structural integrity of cellular or intracellular membranes and involvement in cell signaling through the product of the catalytic reaction, PA, and through protein-protein interaction with a variety of partners.

Bleaching Of Fatty Acids With Obtained Adsorbents
This article presents the results of the adsorptive purification of fatty acids from dyes by the obtained clay adsorbents. It was determined that phospholipids, which are classified as nonionic surfactants, exhibit the highest sorption activity.

The Keystone‐Pathogen Hypothesis Updated: The Role of Porphyromonas gingivalis in Periodontitis
Porphyromonas gingivalis orchestrates a coordinated manipulation of immune and inflammatory responses in periodontal tissues which leads to the generation of a dysbiotic, subgingival biofilm community, and progression of periodontitis. The type 9 secretion system, lipid A modification, and the formation of outer membrane vesicles are important ...
