The Phosphoserine Phosphatase Alters the Free Amino Acid Compositions and Fecundity in Cyrtorhinus lividipennis Reuter. [PDF]

open access: yesInt J Mol Sci, 2022
The mirid bug Cyrtorhinus lividipennis (Reuter) is an important predator that consumes eggs and young nymphs of the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens as a primary food source and thus becomes an important member of the rice ecosystem.

Molecular insights into the functional mechanism of phosphoserine phosphatase SerB2 in Mycobacterium tuberculosis [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) phosphoserine phosphatase SerB2 is a key enzyme essential for bacterial survival and virulence, catalyzing the final step in the L-serine biosynthesis pathway.

Identification of Small Molecule Inhibitors Targeting Phosphoserine Phosphatase: A Novel Target for the Development of Antiamoebic Drugs [PDF]

open access: yesACS Omega
Amoebiasis, a widespread disease caused by the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica, poses challenges due to the adverse effects of existing antiamoebic drugs and rising drug resistance.

Knock-Down of the Phosphoserine Phosphatase Gene Effects Rather N- Than S-Metabolism in Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
The aim of present study was to elucidate the significance of the phosphorylated pathway of Ser production for Cys biosynthesis in leaves at day and night and upon cadmium (Cd) exposure.

Biochemical characterization of phosphoserine phosphatase SerB2 from Mycobacterium marinum. [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2020
SerB2 is an essential phosphoserine phosphatase (PSP) that has been shown to be involved in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) immune evasion mechanisms, and a drug target for the development of new antitubercular agents.

Crystal structures and snapshots along the reaction pathway of human phosphoserine phosphatase

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D: Structural Biology, 2019
The equilibrium between phosphorylation and dephosphorylation is one of the most important processes that takes place in living cells. Human phosphoserine phosphatase (hPSP) is a key enzyme in the production of serine by the dephosphorylation of phospho ...

A phosphoserine phosphatase variant present in the brain of Alzheimer's disease patients favors nuclear mistargeting. [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS J
Phosphoserine phosphatase (PSP) catalyzes the dephosphorylation of 3‐phosphoserine, which is the final step in the de novo biosynthesis of l‐serine (l‐Ser) via the phosphorylated pathway in human astrocytes.

Mutations responsible for 3-phosphoserine phosphatase deficiency [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Human Genetics, 2003
We report the identification of the mutations in the only known case of L-3-phosphoserine phosphatase deficiency, a recessively inherited condition. The two mutations correspond to the replacement of the semiconserved Asp32 residue by an asparagine and of the extremely conserved Met52 by a threonine.

Phosphoserine Phosphatase Is Required for Serine and One-Carbon Unit Synthesis in Hydrogenobacter thermophilus. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Bacteriol, 2017
ABSTRACT Hydrogenobacter thermophilus is an obligate chemolithoautotrophic bacterium of the phylum Aquificae and is capable of fixing carbon dioxide through the reductive tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle.
