CLINICAL SCIENCES Glutathione and Glutathione S-Transferases as Early Markers for Ovarian Carcinomas: Case Series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Aim. To determine the activity of glutathione (GSH) and concentrations of glutathione S-transferases (GST), urokinase type plasminogen activator (uPA), and plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1), and to evaluate their diagnostic and prognostic ...

Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of non-symmetric smal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) is a member of the serpin family of proteins, a primary inhibitor of both tissue-type and urokinase-type plasminogen activators in plasma, and is a well-established risk factor in various disease conditions ...

The inactivation of single-chain urokinase-type plasminogen activator by thrombin on cultured human endothelial cells

open access: yesBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Molecular Cell Research, 2000
Single-chain urokinase-type plasminogen activator (scu-PA) is cleaved by thrombin, resulting in an inactive molecule called thrombin-cleaved two-chain urokinase-type plasminogen activator (tcu-PA/T). There is no knowledge about cell-mediated inactivation of scu-PA. We have studied whether scu-PA bound to cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (

Effects of Epsilon-Amino-Caproic Acid on Prolactin-Inactivating and Fibrinolytic Activities of Streptokinase-Activated Plasminogen.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1963
SummaryOvine prolactin (0.5 mg) was incubated for 2 hours at 37.5°C with human plasminogen with and without e-aminocaproic acid (EACA). Fibrinolytic activity (FA) and prolactin-inactivating activity (PIA) were increased by streptokinase (SK). EACA at 0.026 M (5.0 mg) and 0.26 M (50.0 mg) increased FA but did not increase PIA.

open access: yes, 2007
thesisMany haemorrhagic complications have been attributed to increased intravascular fibrinolytic activity. The degradation products resulting from fibrinolysis have been shown to interfere in fibrin polymerization and have been observed in defective ...
