Kinematic‐calcium loops unravel impaired excitation–contraction coupling in MELAS‐affected cardioids

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Representation of kinematic and calcium transient loop with respect to traditional time coplotting. Abstract Impaired Ca2+ handling, and in particular leakage from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, is a critical mechanism in metabolic diseases affecting the heart.

The suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 regulates glioma stem cell maintenance and immune microenvironment through signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signaling

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 3, September 2026.
We found that SOCS3 deficiency activates STAT3 to enhance glioma stem cell (GSC) stemness and survival. We demonstrated that IL‐6 rescues STAT3 signaling and reverses SOCS3‐mediated tumor suppression. We revealed that SOCS3‐low GSCs exhibit enriched p53 and JAK‐STAT pathway activity. This study provides new mechanistic insights into SOCS3‐STAT3 axis in

Executive Function and Epigenetic Markers in Youth Exposed to Family and Community Violence in Childhood

open access: yesDevelopmental Psychobiology, Volume 68, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Although exposure to violence has been linked to executive functioning impairments, the biological mechanisms underlying this association remain unclear. This study examined CpG sites associated with executive functions in 78 young adults and their links to family (psychological and physical) and community violence during childhood. The scales

Paternal Exposure to the Neonicotinoid Pesticide Clothianidin Alters Sperm MicroRNA Profiles in Mice and Intergenerationally Reduces Locomotor Activity in Male Offspring

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 9, Page 3164-3176, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that paternal environmental factors have epigenetic effects on sperm and influence offspring. Neonicotinoid pesticides (NNs), which are widely used around the world, are known to affect offspring phenotypes through maternal exposure in mice, but the effect of the paternal exposure remains unknown.
