ERM Inhibition Confers Ferroptosis Resistance through ROS‐Induced NRF2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ERM inhibition disrupts ERM‐actin interactions, elevating ROS and triggering KEAP1 degradation, which stabilizes and activates NRF2. Nuclear NRF2 induces cytoprotective genes, notably HMOX1, enhancing redox buffering and suppressing lipid peroxidation to resist erastin‐induced ferroptosis.

Commercial Applications of Microalgae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The first use of microalgae by humans dates back 2000 years to the Chinese, who used Nostoc to survive during famine. However, microalgal biotechnology only really began to develop in the middle of the last century.

Inhibition of Calcium‐Dependent Lipid Droplets Relocation of ACSL4‐PKCβ‐ALOX15 Complex Alleviates Ferroptosis and Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies L‐type calcium channel blockers as novel ferroptosis inhibitors. It reveals that PKCβ, activated in calcium dependent manner, phosphorylates and activates ACSL4 and ALOX15, relocating them to lipid droplets to promote lethal lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.

Chemical composition and fatty acid contents in farmed freshwater prawns

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira, 2013
The objective of this work was to evaluate the chemical composition and fatty acid contents of Amazonian and giant river prawns. After four-month farming, with the same diet for both species, palmitic and stearic acids were the main saturated fatty acids.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids influence offspring sex ratio in cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) can influence fertility in farm animals. Some evidence in mice and sheep have suggested that PUFAs may influence offspring sex ratio, which may have significant value for cattle production.

Neuroprotective Nanoplatform Integrating Antioxidant MXene Nanozymes and Ferroptosis Inhibitors for Targeted Therapy of Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury (CIRI) is a key pathological process limiting the efficacy of stroke therapy. This study has developed an innovative, multifunctional, brain‐targeted nanoplatform (RFP) containing MXene nanoenzymes and ferroptosis inhibitors.

Poultry meat production as a functional food with a voluntary n-6 and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids ratio

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2007
We studied the effect of different levels of linseed oils made either of the flax cultivar Atalante with a high content of α-linolenic acid (612 g/kg) or of the cultivar Lola with a predominating content of linoleic acid (708 g/kg) in a chicken diet upon

Changes of fatty acid profiles in fillets of Cobia (Rachycentron canadum) during frozen storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this study changes in fatty acids profile during frozen storage at -18°C of Cobia (Rachycentron canadum), caught from the Persian Gulf (Bandar Abbas) were studied.

Pirin Transcriptionally Regulates PLA2G4A To Inhibit Ferroptosis in Colorectal Cancer via Lipid Profile Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Pirin (PIR), an iron‐binding protein, as a critical ferroptosis suppressor in colorectal cancer through lipid membrane remodeling. PIR, induced by NRF2 during ferroptotic stress, transcriptionally regulates PLA2G4A to shift cellular lipid composition away from ferroptosis‐permissive polyunsaturated phospholipids.

Fatty acids profile of tropical bagridae catfish (Mystus numerus)during storage. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Changes in the fatty acid composition of the fresh water catfish (Mystus nemurus) stored in 10°C and ice (0± 2°C) for 1, 10 and 20 days were monitored. A total of 22 fatty acids were found to be present in the studied samples.
