SI‐bioATRP in Mesoporous Silica for Size‐Exclusion Driven Local Polymer Placement
An enzyme‐catalyzed surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐bioATRP) of an anionic monomer within mesoporous silica particles, using hemoglobin as a catalyst, allows for controlling the location of the formed polymer via size‐exclusion effects between the nanopores and the biomacromolecules, thereby opening routes to functional ...

Adenosine triphosphate-sensitive potassium channel Kir subunits implicated in cardioprotection by diazoxide [PDF]
BACKGROUND: ATP-sensitive potassium (K(ATP)) channel openers provide cardioprotection in multiple models. Ion flux at an unidentified mitochondrial K(ATP) channel has been proposed as the mechanism.

This study presents a new hole transporting material (HTM) mechanism for self‐assembled monolayers in near‐infrared organic photodetectors. The formation of zwitterions induces a strong electric field that significantly increases the work function of HTM‐coated indium tin oxide substrates. The devices exhibit low dark current and noise, along with high

In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Sustainable Catalyst‐Free PLG Networks: Recyclability, Biodegradability, and Functional Performance
A catalyst‐additive free covalent adaptable network is developed from star‐shaped poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) cross‐linked with pyromellitic dianhydride, enabling internal carboxylic acid‐driven transesterification. The resulting biodegradable network exhibits mechanical robustness (Young's modulus ≈1.6 GPa), complete recyclability, rapid biodegradation

POTASSIUM CHANNEL OPENERS AND OTHER REGULATORS OF KATP CHANNELS [PDF]
SUMMARY1. Interest in ATP‐sensitive K (Katp) channels first arose when it was shown that hypoglycaemic sulphonylureas, such as glibenclamide, closed these channels in pancreatic p‐cells to cause insulin release. The demonstration that certain smooth muscle relaxants (K channel openers) may exert their actions through opening a similar channel in ...

A polyelectrolyte complex‐based sorbent is produced by scalable, environmentally benign aqueous phase inversion. Its porous, LiCl‐ and GO‐integrated architecture enables hourly adsorption−desorption cycles at low relative humidity (RH < 30%). A large‐scale prototype achieves multicyclic, solar‐driven atmospheric water harvesting of 1.37 L kg−1 day−1 ...

Bioinspired Stabilization of Fluorescent Au@SiO2 Tracers for Multimodal Biological Imaging
This study demonstrates a bioinspired stabilization strategy for fluorescent gold‐silica nanoparticles. Inspired by natural biosilica maturation, high‐temperature calcination transforms the silica shells, preventing dissolution in cell culture media and intracellular environments.

Dill extract induces elastic fiber neosynthesis and functional improvement in the ascending aorta of aged mice with reversal of age-dependent cardiac hypertrophy and involvement of lysyl oxidase-like-1 [PDF]
Elastic fibers (90% elastin, 10% fibrillin-rich microfibrils) are synthesized only in early life and adolescence mainly by the vascular smooth muscle cells through the cross-linking of its soluble precursor, tropoelastin.

Nucleation‐Controlled Reconstruction of CuOx for Selective CO2 Electroreduction
The ratio of oxygen vacancies (Ov) and exposed Cu2O (111)/(200) of CuOx precatalyst is modulated by nucleation control of Cu(OH)2 precursor. Low Ov ratio and high ratio of Cu2O (111)/(200) in slow‐nucleated CuOx reconstructs to high‐coordinated oxide‐derived copper (OD‐Cu) during electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and exhibits enhanced ...
