Microbiome‐mediated chemical communication in insects: Implications for pest management
Microbiome–semiochemical interactions involve the following processes: direct microbial synthesis, host gene regulation, precursor biotransformation, microbiome modulation and indirect ecological signaling. Abstract Insects rely on semiochemicals to regulate aggregation, mating, foraging, and host selection. This review synthesizes evidence that insect‐

Research Progress on Fungal Sesterterpenoids Biosynthesis
Sesterterpenes are 25-carbon terpenoids formed by the cyclization of dimethyl allyl diphosphate (DMAPP) and isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) as structural units by sesterterpenes synthases.

Stress‐induced switch. Under stress conditions, small extracellular vesicle release shifts from the constitutive ‘torn bag mechanism’ to exocytosis of multivesicular endosomes. https://BioRender.com/xn1pa1e. ABSTRACT The biogenesis of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) is only partially understood.

Analogues of geranyl pyrophosphate as inhibitors of prenyltransferase [PDF]
Six analogues of geranyl pyrophosphate (the monophosphates of geraniol and tetrahydrogeraniol, and the pyrophosphates of nerol, octan-1-ol, tetrahydrogeraniol and citronellol) were synthesized, and were found to be inhibitors of pig liver prenyl- (geranyl-)transferase.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Evolutionary Relationships of Microbial Aromatic Prenyltransferases
The linkage of isoprenoid and aromatic moieties, catalyzed by aromatic prenyltransferases (PTases), leads to an impressive diversity of primary and secondary metabolites, including important pharmaceuticals and toxins. A few years ago, a hydroxynaphthalene PTase, NphB, featuring a novel ten-stranded β-barrel fold was identified in Streptomyces sp ...

Exosomal miR‐4644 Targets SPRY3 to Promote Proliferation and Invasion of Pancreatic Cancer
ABSTRACT Background Tumor‐derived exosomes (TDEs) can carry diverse genetic material that modulates pancreatic cancer (PC) proliferation and invasion. Despite this, the involvement of microRNAs (miRNAs) in TDE‐mediated tumor progression in PC remains inadequately explored. Methods Ultracentrifugation was used to isolate exosomes derived from AsPC‐1 and

A conserved C-terminal RXG motif in the NgBR subunit of cis-prenyltransferase is critical for prenyltransferase activity [PDF]
cis-Prenyltransferases (cis-PTs) constitute a large family of enzymes conserved during evolution and present in all domains of life. In eukaryotes and archaea, cis-PT is the first enzyme committed to the synthesis of dolichyl phosphate, an obligate lipid carrier in protein glycosylation reactions.
