Identification of Optically Active Pyrimidine Derivatives as Selective 5-HT2C Modulators

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
A series of pyrimidine derivatives 4a–i were synthesized and evaluated for their binding affinities towards 5-HT2C receptors. With regard to designed molecules 4a–i, the influence of the size of alkyl ether and the absolute configuration of a stereogenic

Solvable models of neighbor-dependent nucleotide substitution processes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
We prove that a wide class of models of Markov neighbor-dependent substitution processes on the integer line is solvable. This class contains some models of nucleotide substitutions recently introduced and studied empirically by molecular biologists. We show that the polynucleotide frequencies at equilibrium solve explicit finite-size linear systems ...

Symmetry Analysis Of Genetic Code And Determinative Degree (in Russian) [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2000
A three-dimensional model of the genetic vocabulary is proposed in terms of determinative degree, an introduced characteristic of nucleotide, which reflects absolute difference between purin and pyrimidin bases in one DNA strand. In the fremework of this model manifest symmetry and group properties are described. It is proposed to use the determinative

Nonlinear Dynamics in the Binary DNA/RNA Coding Problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
The presence of low dimensional chaos in the protein secondary structures, using the binary coded $\alpha$-helices and $\beta$-sheet motifs, has been investigated. In order to analyse symbolic DNA/RNA sequences the assignment, based on the purine/pyrimidine and strong/wea k H - bond classification sheme, of binary numbers to the nucleotides was made ...

Harnessing molecular recognition for small molecule‐mediated, reversible photochemical control over mRNA translation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Chemical probes that control the function of complex RNA molecules offer unique opportunities to interrogate biological systems. In this study, we demonstrate that a small molecule ligand selectively recognizes and undergoes traceless, reversible photocrosslinking to PreQ1 RNA aptamers.

Lactic acid bacteria isolated from traditional Iranian butter with probiotic and cholesterol‐lowering properties: In vitro and in situ activity

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 350-363, January 2023., 2023
Traditional Iranian butter samples were collected from different parts of Iran and were screened for the presence of Lactic acid bacteria. The selected LAB were identified to species level by biphasic approach. The ability of selected LAB to lower the cholestrol both in vitro and in situ was then determined.

Regioselective C‐H Thio‐ and Selenocyanation of Pyrazolo[1,5‐a]pyrimidines

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, EarlyView.
A metal‐free, N‐chlorosuccinimide (NCS) mediated, highly efficient, and regioselective C−H thiocyanation and C−H selenocyanation of pyrazolo[1,5‐a]pyrimidines are achieved under mild reaction conditions for the synthesis of a wide variety of 3‐thiocyanato‐ and 3‐selenocyanatopyrazolo[1,5‐a]pyrimidines in good to excellent yield up to 99 %.

The Hydrophilic Metabolite UMP Alleviates Obesity Traits through a HIF2α‐ACER2‐Ceramide Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Metabolic abnormalities contribute to the pathogenesis of obesity and its complications. Yet, the understanding of the interactions between critical metabolic pathways that underlie obesity remains to be improved, in part owing to the lack of ...
