Biotechnológiai fejlesztések a monoklonálisantitest-terápiában: a RANK-ligand-gátló antitest = Biotechnological advances in monoclonal antibody therapy: the RANK ligand inhibitor antibody [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Biológiai gyógyszereket a múlt század közepe óta használ az orvostudomány. Napjainkban szemtanúi lehetünk intenzív fejlődésüknek és elterjedésüknek a klinikai gyakorlatban.

Denosumab for the treatment of osteoporosis

open access: yesOsteoporosis and Sarcopenia, 2017
Denosumab, a specific inhibitor of RANK ligand, is a novel therapy for postmenopausal osteoporosis and related disorders. An extensive clinical development program has evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of denosumab with several thousand patients

Soluble rank ligand produced by myeloma cells causes generalised bone loss in multiple myeloma. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Patients with multiple myeloma commonly develop focal osteolytic bone disease, as well as generalised osteoporosis. The mechanisms underlying the development of osteoporosis in patients with myeloma are poorly understood. Although disruption of the RANKL/

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

In Vitro Stoichiometry of Complexes between the Soluble RANK Ligand and the Monoclonal Antibody Denosumab [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The in vitro binding stoichiometry of denosumab, an IgG2 fully human monoclonal therapeutic antibody, to RANK ligand was determined by multiple complementary size separation techniques with mass measuring detectors, including two solution-based ...

Inhibition of choroidal osteoma progression using bisphosphonate and RANKL-inhibitory treatment

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports
Purpose: To describe the use of anti-osteoclastic medications (i.e., bisphosphonates and receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa beta (RANK) ligand inhibitors) in treating choroidal osteoma.

Clinical, instrumental, serological and histological findings suggest that hemophilia B may be less severe than hemophilia A

open access: yesHaematologica, 2016
Recent evidence suggests that patients with severe hemophilia B may have a less severe disease compared to severe hemophilia A. To investigate clinical, radiological, laboratory and histological differences in the arthropathy of severe hemophilia A and ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Protein-ligand binding affinities from large-scale quantum mechanical simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The accurate prediction of protein-drug binding affinities is a major aim of computational drug optimisation and development. A quantitative measure of binding affinity is provided by the free energy of binding, and such calculations typically require ...
