Angiotensin Type 2 Receptor in Resistance Arteries of Type 2 Diabetic Hypertensive Patients [PDF]

open access: yesHypertension, 2007
The role of angiotensin type 2 receptor (AT 2 R) on vascular responses to angiotensin II in humans remains unclear. In this study we explored whether AT 2 R is expressed and functionally active on peripheral resistance arteries of hypertensive diabetic ...

The angiotensin II type 2 (AT2) receptor: an enigmatic seven transmembrane receptor

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience, 2009
Angiotensin II (AngII) interacts with two receptor subtypes, AT1 and AT2, belonging to the seven transmembrane receptor superfamily. Pharmacological investigations initially suggested that AT2 receptors antagonize AT1 effects. Data from AT2 receptor transgenic and knock-out mice have not been entirely consistent with this interpretation.

Effect of Irbesartan on Chemerin in the Renal Tissues of Diabetic Rats

open access: yesKidney & Blood Pressure Research, 2015
Background/Aims: Chemerin was introduced as a novel adipokine that plays a crucial role in insulin signaling and diabetic nephropathy. Serum chemerin levels are significantly elevated in type 2 diabetes patients with macroalbuminuria.

Eicosapentaenoic and Docosahexaenoic Acids Attenuate Progression of Albuminuria in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Coronary Artery Disease

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2017
BackgroundAlbuminuria is a marker of inflammation and an independent predictor of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The current study evaluated whether eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) supplementation attenuates ...
