The technique of receptor autoradiography was used to study the distribution of neurotensin receptors in post mortem brain tissues from patients affected by Parkinson's disease, progressive supranuclear palsy and from age-matched controls.

Cancer Neuroscience: From Local Neuro–Immune Microenvironments to Systemic Brain–Body Circuitry
This review outlines the cancer neuroscience paradigm, spanning systemic brain–body circuitry and local neuro–immune–tumor microenvironments. We discuss how tumors promote axonogenesis and pseudo‐synapse formation, and how sensory neuropeptides, such as CGRP, contribute to CD8+ T‐cell exhaustion.

Abstract figure legend Prader‐Willi syndrome (PWS) originates from deficiencies in chromosome 15q11‐13 region clustering around a critical region containing multiple‐repeat non‐coding RNA gene Snord116, resulting in metabolic and behavioural abnormalities leading to hyperphagia and obesity.

The regulation of neurotensin receptors was studied in vitro in primary cultures of neuronal cells. High affinity receptors for [3H]neurotensin were found in homogenates and at the cell surface of intact neurons cultured from the brain of rat embryos ...

Comparative analysis of microRNAs in bovine colostrum and neonatal calf blood
Abstract BACKGROUND MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short non‐coding RNAs that participate in a wide range of biological processes. MiRNAs are present in high concentrations in colostrum, and these may be potentially transferred to newborn calves being fed colostrum.

From a synthesized series of 2,4‐diaminoquinazoline‐type Y5R ligands, three were prepared as tritium‐labeled compounds and characterized by saturation equilibrium binding at HEC‐1B‐hY5R cells. [3H]32 was further applied in a competition binding assay. High non‐specific binding of the radioligands prompted investigation of material‐dependent adsorption.

Interaction of lipids with the neurotensin receptor 1
Information about lipid-protein interactions for G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) is scarce. Here, we use electron spin resonance (ESR) and spin-labelled lipids to study lipid interactions with the rat neurotensin receptor 1 (NTS1). A fusion protein containing rat NTS1 fully able to bind its ligand neurotensin was reconstituted into ...

Involvement of the Neurotensin Receptor-3 in the Neurotensin-Induced Migration of Human Microglia [PDF]
Microglia motility plays a crucial role in response to lesion or exocytotoxic damage of the cerebral tissue. We used two in vitro assays, a wound-healing model and a chemotaxis assay, to show that the neuropeptide neurotensin elicited the migration of the human microglial cell line C13NJ by a mechanism dependent on both phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase ...
