Thrombolytic proteins profiling: High‐throughput activity, selectivity, and resistance assays
We present optimized biochemical protocols for evaluating thrombolytic proteins, enabling rapid and robust screening of enzymatic activity, inhibition resistance, and fibrin affinity, stimulation, and selectivity. The outcome translates to key clinical indicators such as biological half‐life and bleeding risk. These assays streamline the development of

The role of alpha 6 integrin in prostate cancer migration and bone pain in a novel xenograft model.
Of the estimated 565,650 people in the U.S. who will die of cancer in 2008, almost all will have metastasis. Breast, prostate, kidney, thyroid and lung cancers metastasize to the bone.

Psoriatic disease (PsD) is a chronic skin disease, with challenges in early risk stratification and drug development. Through gene‐level causal inference framework and expression level validation, combined with longitudinal cohort study, CDSN and PRSS8 have been identified as candidate biomarkers and therapeutic targets for PsD.

Minimal Evidence of Inflammaging in Naturalistic Chimpanzee Populations
ABSTRACT Objectives Whereas chronic inflammation is a hallmark of aging in many human populations, inflammaging is reduced in groups characterized by frequent physical activity and diets low in processed foods. Since most biomarkers of inflammation require blood sampling, comparative data from our closest primate relatives have been derived from ...

Tumor‐associated macrophages are the most abundant immune cells in the tumor microenvironment, driving malignant progression and treatment resistance. This review summarizes the protumor mechanisms of TAMs (including phagocytosis modulation, metabolic reprogramming, exosomal communication, and immune interactions), evaluates three major strategies ...

Abstract An 8‐year‐old male neutered domestic shorthair cat was presented for the management of severe anaemia and post‐urethral obstruction care. A large intravesicular lesion, which was suspected to be a haematoma, was identified via abdominal ultrasound. This was suspected to be secondary to bleeding in the urinary tract.

Pooled Analysis of Prognostic Impact of Urokinase-Type Plasminogen Activator and Its Inhibitor PAI-1 in 8377 Breast Cancer Patients [PDF]
Background: Urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and its inhibitor (PAI-1) play essential roles in tumor invasion and metastasis. High levels of both uPA and PAI-1 are associated with poor prognosis in breast cancer patients.
