We observed a negative effect of brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS) in a staggered manner based on the severity of the condition on respiratory and cardiac patterns, glycemia, acid–base balance, fetal growth, and uterine artery hemodynamics, thus requiring adaptations within the fetal–placental unit. Severely affected bitches had uterine

A radiobiological model of reoxygenation and fractionation effects [PDF]
PurposeThe purpose of this study was to develop a radiobiological model of reoxygenation that fulfills the following goals: (a) Quantify the reoxygenation effect for different fractionations (b) Model the hypoxic fraction in tumors as a function of the number of radiation treatments.

On the modelling of artificial reoxygenation

Hypoxia is an unfavorable environmental condition that produces diverse negative effects in fish. High-density cultures of Epinephelus coioides are more likely to experience hypoxic conditions than those in natural environments.

Possible therapeutic repositioning of valproic acid: From epileptic seizures to acute kidney injury
Valproic acid, an anticonvulsant, may be repositioned to prevent acute kidney injury due to ischemia followed by reperfusion. It preserves renal functions, electrolyte homeostasis and active sodium transport in kidney tubules, and blocks the onset of hypertension.

ABSTRACT Oxygen supply is a critical parameter in 3D cell cultivation using bioreactors. Since bioreactor designs often prioritise practical constraints, understanding the oxygen supply dynamics of the media is crucial for achieving either uniform or spatially controlled oxygen delivery.

Hypoxia-reoxygenation induced necroptosis in cultured rat renal tubular epithelial cell line [PDF]
Objective(s): The aim of this study is to explore the potential role of hypoxia/reoxygenation in necroptosis in cultured rat renal tubular epithelial cell line NRK-52E, and further to investigate its possible mechanisms.Materials and Methods: Cells were ...

A Method for Optical Quantification of Local Oxygen Limitations in Multiphase Bioreactors
ABSTRACT Spatial oxygen limitation is a major source of physiological stress and metabolic, scale‐dependent heterogeneity in aerobic bioprocesses. In gas‐liquid stirred tank reactors, oxygen availability is governed by hydrodynamics and mass transfer and is therefore inherently non‐uniform.
